Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
p.s. I have had good dealings with MBM25 in the past.

I'm with ya though, it's sad when a "respected board member" leaves, maybe if we offered up a few shillings he'd come back!
That being said there is not one person here who could ever offend me or get me angry enough after I logg off to have it bother me in real life. This "Hobby" is what it is and so isnt CU, there are good, bad, disgraceful, and just straight up scumbags involved. Deal with it or move along I guess..
About a week or so ago, I PM'd another former regular poster who I noticed has been missing. It's a shame the trolls are making these boards not as much fun as they were/should be. The best thing to do is just ignore them.
Guys like MBMiller, grote15, cincyredlegs, jeffcbay, miconelegacy, starpaxman, bubblebathgirl and many others inspired me from being a lurker to a poster. Let's all keep it positive!
It would be a shame if you allow a bunch of rude people with big egos and a need for attention drive you away.
Please come back.
Dave

Do you really require inspiration to post messages on a message board? Sorry, that just sounds like a line of pure BS fluff that's quite popular in society. I'm with the poster that said it's probably because they got caught shill bidding(that's what it is, you can mask it with the term safety, but that's more of that BS fluff)
<< <i>Honestly I cannot understand why anyone would ever need to take a break or stop posting because of anything other than just losing interest. I mean if alts seriously bother you or you get offended by what happens here in CU then I guess your better off staying away, I enjoy reading the boards and alot of times find things very funny which is enjoyable to me.

I hoped! PSA needs to start requiring REAL user names to stop the bashing and trolling.
<< <i>You sure he didn't leave because he was called out for safety bidding his auctions?

Did you get the tag number of that Elephant 21-0.
As I have the stage now, I suppose I should respond in kind. Nothing is driving me from the boards. I am not upset and walking away because one event, or anything else.
For the record:
I did ask a very good friend to bid on a couple cards for me that I was heavily invested in, so that I would not take a bath on my investment. Was it right? NO. Did I admit that I did it, I did. Is it something that I make a practice of. No! With that being said, I also shouldnt have to be put on trial for this. Noone is perfect!
At the end of the day, I just dont get a lot of satisfaction from reading these boards anymore, and will spend my time elsewhere. I have met some great people from these boards. I have shared PM's and phone calls with many more great people that I hope one day I will get a chance to meet in person. I am eternally greatful for all the knowledge that I have gotten from these boards over the years. I will continue to communicate with the people that I frequently communicate with now.
I had no intention of making this an attention grab by me, so for those of you that loath me for whatever reason, I am sorry you have to waste your valuable time reading this.
Happy Collecting!
Alts? LOL What a bunch of losers.
We have leaving the hobby threads from people who can't control their spending, hate the bickering, lost an auction, got shilled, can't be #1 on the Registry, bla bla bla.
It's freaking sports cards and memorabilia people.
Now back to your regular scheduled programming

Did this guy have a traumatic brain injury and all he can do now is type slightly different variations of this exact thought? He doesn't even mix up the emoticon he uses at the end. Always the blue laughing face, every time.

This sounds like a comment someone that makes safety bids would make.

I know you can't mean that. It bothers me when I see anyone stop posting here. We need as many veteran collectors as possible on boards like these and in this hobby. There are too few of us as it is!
<< <i>Is safety bid going to go down as phrase of the year for 2012 >>
Only if the phrase is approved by the "respected board members".

That's a clown question, bro.
"I knew the guy who robbed the bank, he always seemed like a good guy to me."
Seriously.
I don't personally know Matt, but from what I have read, I am more than happy to forgive. He said he was wrong, he said it was more of an isolated event not trying to pump the items to maximum amounts but to try to prevent losing to much of his investment, which he could have done many other ways (reserve price, higher starting bid, etc...) and there would have not been an issue. Good people try to forgive.
Maybe if you had friends, you would understand why so many of the forum members are willing to forgive their friend. If you had a friend & they did something wrong, would you hound them for the rest of your life? Exactly what is it that you want? Why continue, let it go. That's my advice to you and of course, it is your right to follow that advice or continue on.
What I am saying is that you have more than made your point, forum members have made their point known, this issue is getting boring!

Just some observations I've made since I joined the board. People sometimes take things said too seriously. It is just a message board after all and there are people who have nothing better to do than bash other people. HoneyBadger and CaptainNook fit this to a tee. Obviously you are both "disrespectful board members" who hide behind a second or perhaps even more usernames, to say things that you would not say to anyone face which really just makes you pathetic.
<< <i>...about the two of you >>
I am thinking they are one in the same person....
