Left my first neutral feedback...do you agree?

I've been on eBay since 1999...do a moderate amount of buying and selling, and have never left anything but positive feedback until today. Here's the story:
Two weeks ago, I won three 1960 Topps PSA 7 White Sox cards. Two were from Seller A and one was from Seller B. Both seller's had exactly the same starting bids and descriptions, and the item was located in the same city. In short, it was clear that all three items were coming from the same person, or at least people that could communicate with each other.
Immediately after winning the items, I sent a message to Seller B explaining the situation and asking to combine the shipping. (Both sellers had the same combined shipping policy.) Never heard from Seller B. Seller A sent an invoice accounting for combined shipping on the two cards I won from him, which I paid. After I paid it, I sent a request for an invoice to Seller B, again explaining the situation. I got an invoice for the full amount, including full shipping, with no message attached. Having made two attempts to combine the shipping, I decided to go ahead and pay the invoice.
Seller A's items arrived in a timely manner, Seller B's arrived just today (a little later than I would expect). Both items had the same return address. Although the the first names on the return addresses were different, the last names were the same.
In the end, I left neutral feedback, with five stars for item description accuracy, one star for communication, three stars for timely shipping, and one star for cost of shipping. Do you agree?

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
They might have had two separate selling accounts for a reason.
One might have been for consignments only and keeping it separate
might have been the best way for tax/accounting purposes.
Once you won the auctions, you agreed to the shipping terms.
Leaving less than 5 stars is really low class. I would block you in the future.
<< <i>No. What's your ebay ID? >>
I was waiting to see this classic predictable question popup in this thread.
Shipping is a touchy subject in the first place, but in the end if it is listed in the description, i dont care if they charge 1k to ship a card, you bid, you bought you pay.
In the end, dinging stars and FB is ebay nonsense anyway.
And yes, I did leave positive feedback for Seller A.

From your post, you sound like a good person trying to do what you beleive is the right thing. BUT, Text you have wondered into tabu territory. Most of the answers you have received are from sellers, and they do not like neutral or negitve feedback or less than 5 star ratings because it can cost them money either thru decreased sales or higher fees from ebay. So, they are not going to give you much slack with their answers.
Just for the record, I do not think your choice was correct, but it is your decission & your feedback, and I don't think you deserved quite the negitivity you got, espeacially from dennis07, as he suggested by his comment that you should be blocked. I think what bubblebathgirl says makes a lot of sense. She sounds like a very customer oriented seller, something we need more of in this business.
I was reading another thread the other day and some of the sellers were talking about a block list and what would qulify somebody to be put on the list. I was shocked at some of the reasons. Now, once again, it's their business and they have the right to run it any way they choose. But I, and we all, have the right to state out opinions in this forum. IMO, owning a business does not make you God. Not if you want it to be as sucessful as possible. Eliminating a bidder or buyer because you don't like their attitude is just plain crazy, not to mention stupid!
I have been a seller in the past, both on Ebay and back in the early 90's a store owner. (Cards of Fame in Needles, Ca & New Orleans, La) Currently though, I am a collector only. I love putting together my Post War HOF Rookies set and I have bought from some of you that sell on Ebay now. I hope you don't take offense to what I have said here and block me, but if you do, all well! I will just have to give my money to somebody else!

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
maybe one seller lacks communication.
I have a friend that sells on ebay. his son does also. same address. same last name. diff 1st name.
they are completely separate.

If you knew that you'd ding the seller if you didn't get what you wanted [e.g. combined shipping], why didn't you ask Seller A and Seller B their combined shipping policies before the auction ran its course and was over?
It is hard to agree with your actions after the auction was over when you should have had every opportunity to contact Seller A and Seller B during the auction and chose not to do so. It seems to me that you're negotiating after you've agreed to buy something and are holding feedback hostage.
Just my $0.02, as an active ebay Buyer and Seller.
Do you actually think the seller has TWO separate accounts, hoping that by some miracle, one of the millions of ebay users would happen to come along and just happen to
buy one product from each of his sell accounts so he can make an extra few bucks in shipping charges?
When put that way, I think the answer is a resounding NO! And if you can see that answer, then it stands to reason that your Neut, while in your opinion, is honest, is not
justified at all.
Keep in mind, that all feedback is nonsense in the first place. The stars, the way it affects your fees and such.
<< <i>Proper communication is a required service of selling on eBay, as it is of any business venture.
If a seller is going to completely ignore a buyer then that seller may suffer consequences for doing so.
Conversely, by communicating in a suitable fashion, both parties may learn something and benefit from the exchange. Ya just never know, and by not even trying I think, in this case, seller B failed to fulfill his service obligations. >>
This is a great summary on my feelings about this matter. It's not about the shipping charges, it's the lack of communication.
After reading the responses, I do think that my one star on shipping charges was unjustified. I agreed to pay $4, and shouldn't have dinged him there. If there is a way to go back and change that, someone please let me know and I will. But I still feel that one star on communication and a neutral feedback is appropriate. As a seller, I've never completely failed to respond to an inquiry, and neither has anyone I've purchased from until now. As bubblebathgirl said, communication is part of what eBay and it's users expect from sellers. Complete failure in that area warrants neutral feedback, in my opinion.
