    Not new.

I had a Morgan I showed a photo of here over a year ago that was NGC plus graded along with the STAR.

NGC followed PCGS by a only couple months with the +, I think.

Might be interesting to move to a 100-point grading scale.

It coincides with the new crossover special at NGC.

PCGS coins are guaranteed an NGC+ grade at same level (or better) or your money back.
PCGS/CAC coins are guaranteed the next grade level higher or your money back.

So I have an 1883-CC Morgan graded PCGS MS65+PL CACd. Are you saying that I will get an NGC MS66+PL back?

    Sounds reasonable to me! image
  • Yes,I reread it, and my question still stands. Don't make me call NGC myself.

  • Golly gee whiz! Did you know that really nice people answer the phone over "there"?. Anyway,it is misleading to assume that ANY coin graded in ANY PCGS holder would grade any higher if submitted to NGC. So they basically said anybody who is suggesting otherwise can go take a hike! Therefore,I am not sending any of my PCGS holdered coins there. At least the phone call saved me, potentaially,a lot of money and time.

IIRC, it mite have been tuther way rown. PCGS had the secure and NGC countered with the +.

  • PCGS started using the + grade back in August 2010.

    edit: Change to March 25,2010.

"I really believe that Ryk is capable of both explaining and defending himself! So bug off little man!"

WTF? Misinformation was being posited regarding when and who started plus grading first - I clarified the issue. My post has nothing to do with either you or him, so leave me out of your little tirade.

It's considered poor form to quote a PM without the sender's permission. There's a reason it's called a private message.

He's also clearly under the influence of something, hence the misinformation followed by speaking about himself in the third person.
