It's called either 'acid treated'
or 'chemically treated'.
The chemical eats away the
entire outer clad layer sometimes,
leaving the 'mushy' copper core
and a much thinner coin - and,
although the reeding is still there,
the diameter of the coin has shrunk
somewhat, although it might not show
in the photo.
