    I actually looked forward to Friday Metal Porn... Seems kinda redundant to start one when there was a week long thread, and a mid~week thread/discovery.

    Maybe we should have a poll on what people preferimage

    edited to add: I thought it was a Zecchino but have just learned that this coin was called Ducat until 1554 when it became Zecchino.

    Friday metal porn gives us all something to look forward to, but I like this way too because there's been times I bought on a Monday and it was so cool I just had to post it. So I guess i'm neutral on this one, i don't mind either way.

    Lately I haven't contributed to it much though image Just can't seem to find decent silver at good prices lately, or the locals don't even have any to sell...or so they say so. image

    Well I broke down today and bought a little bit.
    1997 5 oz Libertad and 2 GW (Gold Way) 1 oz silver bars. Never seen them before, so in the pile of oddballs they go. One guy on eBay wants like $65/bar for them...I guess someone can ask whatever they want image

    My guy buys for 20. While sweeet, a $50 score doesn't suck. Front for a we-buy place it sounds like, especially with the bar code flips.

    That's what my guy buys them for. Sells them for $25-28 at current silver prices.

    I'm not knocking the price at all, I just didn't agree with the 'you suckage' on the deal since we're talking under ~$15 per peace.

    Hell, I paid $25/ea for a few nice original, crusty ones yesterday. Nothing all shiny and bu, but I don't like them lilke that. I'd pay $25 all day long for bu's too, don't think anyone here wouldn't.

    Below are the parameters, as per MadMarty back in 2008.

    "When the "YOU SUCK!" was set up, it was based on the amount you paid for the coin, and the amount is sold for (or was worth). While 80X is a great score, it's not real YOU SUCK! material. If I remember the 1st official YOU SUCK! was given to Don Heath. Who scored a 1965 SMS 50C in MS68DCAM out of a $10 SMS set. A true YOU SUCK! is a 1000X or better ratio.

    Someone who buys a coin for $4,000,000 and flips it for $5,500,000 may make $1,500,000. But they don't get a YOU SUCK!"

    I agree...no where near a Suck You award. As a matter of fact, some of the recent ones most likely did not qualify either.

    ok, wow! Didn't realize 2 things. It took so much to be awarded what is in reality trival...and that it was such a touchy subject. My sincere apologies.
    If it means anything, I give my Postal Office 90% silver find "you suck award" back.
    I guess I don't deserve it for doing the right thing and rewarding the postal clerk with a gift card to her favorite restaurant because she helped me profit $50 I never otherwise would've had.

    You deserve to be acknowledged for being an honest & reliable individual, and I agree that the "you suck" award, in your case, did not qualify for that honor.

    I was seriously just bored at work and needed something to talk about - I'm miles ahead of my project timelines (as usual), and nobody is in the office today!
