1956 Mickey Mantle w/metallic center?

My brother had recently won a 56 mantle off of ebay, it was graded a 8 by ?AGS?, for $450. Right off the bat (no pun intended) we were a little skeptic about the card because A) he won it for so little we had never heard of AGS. So we brought it to 2 different local dealers, one said to send it to PSA and test our luck, the other said it was fake. We couldnt find much out about AGS aside from they were known to be pretty shady. Looking at the sides of the card we noticed a shiny center to it, it was almost metallic. Without looking really close you would never notice it. Anyone ever seen or heard of anything like this.......im assuming the card is a fake?

theres no way of taking a picture of it. like i said, it has to hit the light perfectly and you need a sharp eye to see it. it was sent back, just wondering if anyone had heard of such a thing

Hard to believe it got an 8 with the two gum stains on the back. All in all it's a pretty crappy looking card.
