Tells me the card is undergraded in the seller's opinion. He wants to sell it based on the appearance only rather than resubbing - which he probably has more than once already.

HAHA..yup
Kind of an interesting concept. Gives me an idea.
STEP 1: Sell an auction exactly like this. Keep them guessing. Then reveal it to be a PSA 10. (Cheap card, like my PSA 10 Dwight Gooden Rookie) Assuming everyone bid as if it's a PSA 7 or 8, the winner is shocked and excited
STEP 2: Sell all my low grade PSA cards the same way. Include in the description the link to my 1st auction showing that I am straight up and good for PSA 10's
STEP 3: Everyone bids hoping for a 10. Reveal the 6's and 7's. I win.

The chipping on the right is the same. But hiding the grade like that is bad. I am betting that people will bid '8' money, and not get an '8'. Just my two cents.

Boy, would doing THAT ever purchase the guy a one-way ticket to Negville. That's pretty much an automatic.
Also, I think it's absolutely hysterical that he put a reserve on this auction.

I bet it is higher than a 5, thinking more like a 7. I can't tell if it has chipping on the sides. In any case, I would never buy from a seller who does this. What's he trying to do???

He is touting the PSA name brand in his auction titles, yet he refuses to acknowledge the PSA assigned grade. In my opinion, he should crack the card out, or lose the PSA name brand altogether. He is getting the eyes that are searching for PSA cards, yet refuses to give the PSA grade. In my opinion, that is a reportable offense, and the auction should be taken down.
This flat out how not to list a card and I will never bid on any cards this person ever decides to sell. Anytime there is anything suspicious in an auction I avoid it like the plague and it's not worth risk. The reality is they are pretty nice mid-grade cards that I bet would do OK at auction. Thank you artistlost for posting this.
To play games with him couldn't you win the item and then put a SNAD claim in just to aggravate him? The description of "everything you need to know about this card is clearly revealed in the detailed images" not true because he is hiding the grade. Also, scans rarely reveal wrinkles and other defects that need indirect lighting to detect.
Collecting Topps, Philadelphia and Kellogg's from 1964-1989
He is just asking for trouble. HA! He thinks he is in control and will not reveal the grade? Somebody could simply just win the auction, and if they're not satisfied with the price compared with the actual grade - return it. Ebay has given all the power to the buyer, and this seller is being a complete idiot by not revealing everything up front in the auction to avoid returns/hassles/irate buyers.
These auctions are like ticking timebombs for the seller.
He likely has unreasonable reserves on these cards so this may be a non-issue anyways (ie. they won't sell)....
It really pisses me off when I see idiotic stuff like this on Ebay. There's always somebody trying to pull something. I feel like "asking a question" just to give him crap. I won't, but I'd like to.
Cards are as someone else stated above, resubmissions with disappointing results, he wants you to look them up and bid on them for what they were; not what they are currently. He probably takes self portraits and post them on facebook as well.
<< <i>Seems like blatant keyword spamming to me. Should be reported to eBay. >>
How so? It IS a graded card; he's just not sharing the grade. This is a just a protest auction where the seller wants everyone to bid based solely on the visible condition.

Then he should take the word 'PSA' out of the title. People are specifically searching for PSA graded cards, and not revealing the PSA grade, yet wanting to get the PSA bids is a slimeball move. As long as he takes PSA out of the title, I have no problem with it.....
Q: Hi, why are you hiding the grade that PSA assigned to the card? A: I graded the card to ensure it's authenticity....the grade itself is of no relevance to me whatsoever. I recently sold a 1967 McCovey PSA 9 & a book value of $240.00 for $46.00! I'm not hiding the grade....I'm choosing instead to focus the attention on the card where it belongs. enjoy

One thing I think we can all agree on is no matter what his reasoning is, this is not the way to list a card and receive the maximum value. If by chance he does receive more than the card is worth, he has increased the chance of either a return or a complaint, as somebody stated earlier, Ebay will favor the buyer.

If card didn't grade properly, why not resubmit?
