Rosar was discoverd in 1934 by Joe McCarthy's wife who was in attendance at the Buffalo NY Amateur All Star Game. McCarthy, wanting to make his wife happy, sent scout Gene McCann to see Rosar and ended up signing him as an amateur free agent.
Rosar played for the world famous Newark NJ Bears in 1937, the same team who won the International League pennant by 25 1/2 games and became known as one of the best minor league teams of all time. Rosar followed up the '37 pennant with the International League batting chanpionship in 1938. finishing the season with a whopping .387 average.
Still have some Rosars that need a home.
