The issue with TV images is that they are available to all online as long as they have the cert number of the coin or if the coin is listed in CoinFacts or the Registry. Therefore, anyone could steal the image and list the coin. Although the reverse slab shot is overkill, at least it isn't available freely online in most instances and showing it gives the listing somewhat more credibility.

More over, who's to say the coin is actually in the PCGS slab without an actual picture? Ebay and eBay buyers have no way to know. I own a number of coins with Trueview images that are not in PCGS holders.

There was a very good picture of the front of the slab. I felt the reverse picture of the slab was overkill.

I probably wouldn't see this as an issue to get all worked up about. Is it a stupid rule? Maybe. Sometimes. Overall it probably prevents more trouble than it causes. The way I see it, it isn't logical to break the rule and complain about the consequences. It's their auction site. They can run it however they want. If you don't like they way they do it, work to get them to change the rule or take your business somewhere else. What we really need is a viable alternative. Customer service tends to improve when competitors start drawing away the client base.

therein lies the problem. i feel the same way; yet i know it is best to have a full obv/rev shot of the slab and nice clear images at that at a minimum; it is not my preferred method.

i am sure if ebay wasn't so saturated with people attempting/actually scamming people we certainly wouldn't have to be so thorough

since people are proving (on the whole) that they cannot resist themselves to not cause more problems than they solve, for whatever reason(s)

we are left with stringent standards to adhere to. that is the world we live in and it is only going to get worse. sorry for the pessimistic attitude, it is just unfortunate reality.

watch some TED talks on crime, laws etc. I promise it will be a real eye-opener for you all. People from interpol, ice, fbi, un and many more organizations talk at length about this.

I do not think so. It is important to me to make sure the hologram on a PCGS or NGC is not all scuffed up.

Really....you collect PCGS and NGC holograms!! hmmmm.... All of my PCGS and NGC Coins are pristine. I have been selling on ebay for a decade without a problem like this before. The only reason I didn't include a reverse picture was because I put the truview photo in my listing.

So, you had your way of wanting to do things, and ebay has their way. If you knew the ebay rules, which I would assume you do because you "have been selling on ebay for a decade", and this is at least a few years old for a rule, then you purposefully chose to ignore their rules, just because it hadn't impacted you before?

In the case of someone wanting to do it ebay's way or their own way, guess which one will win out? You may have felt it was "overkill" but it really could have been done quickly and avoided the issue.

Sure it is, but I can also see where it is ridiculous to not do something that you are supposed to do, that is very easy to do, and then whine about it....taking more time whining than it would have taken to do it in the first place. Agree? Disagree?

What’s more pathetic or ironic is the scams that are overlooked that are so blatant but go unchallenged. Seeing the back of a plastic slab is unnecessary if you can view both sides of the coin.

TrueViews are excellent but it's also good to have the slab photo as another view IMO.

Also, it's much easier to have 1 rule than 1 rule with many exceptions.

Its happened to me in the past too......several years ago so now I always have the reverse slab shots too. Once it becomes your "norm" its not really so objectionable. However getting from where you are today (TruViews) to what ebay wants is a pain, then you get use to it......or at least I have.

Cmon, members, it is a rule. Their game, their rules. I have read many posts on this site and others complaining about
PCGS's stringent rules at times and always members stand up and say it's their forum, their rules. Pay attention and abide
by the rules. I see no difference here. BTW, I too had an auction removed for the same reason. I had provided very large pics
and felt that was enough for the obv and rev, but then I was not in charge and had to abide by the rules. Shrug it off, Tom and move
on. You can't let a small thing ruin your day.
    Good luck.

It's only a requirement for pre 1984 slabbed coins.
It always amazes me at the number of threads on this forum who will blame eBay for their own mistakes.

It does seem pointless since PCGS does not show any cert numbers on the reverse side, only a barcode.

Also since Ebay is adamant on reverse shots, they should allow for 4 free photos not 2.

It is amazing to me that about half of the slab listings don't comply with the rule yet go to completion.

Ebay apparently only pulls them when they are reported. So you must have a BIG FAN out there!

A fan who may be even monitoring your somewhat immature reaction here on the forums... in which case you could be falling right in to his hands!
