Common-ish Newp in uncommon condition! 8R As ML 1894

Any grade guesses? In hand, the coin is dark, but it has a pleasant patina. Got this for a steal, and although Resplandores lists as common, this had great remaining detail (esp. on the eagle's breast and head).

If you look around, they're not that expensive. Here's one that sold for $49 recently on eBay:

  • These are common dates, and without them being any sort of variety, I think the $25-$60 range is fair for most common, late-date 8R's, depending on condition.

  • Sometimes if you are lucky you can get coins like these for close to the silver melt price. But they are almost always cleaned , bent, holed , wizzed, tooled , etc etc etc

This one looks Original. Good coin for the collection. Nice Buy!
