Jordan 86 Fleer rookie FS

I know most people will run the other way BUT I figured I'd test the waters and see anyways...

For sale I got a raw Jordan rc It's 100% authentic and unaltered, I see no problems with it grading a PSA 5

    I'm asking 350.00

and I disagree, I've subbed about 1,000 or more 86 fleers over the last couple years so I feel I know the set a little..

    Price is good IMO..

Hmm.. I think mines nicer than this 4 with corners about the same but the psa 4 has stains and not as nice centering,

Too much white on the corners and chipping on the border compared to the 5.5

Look dude....not trying to insult, so don't take it as such. It is a good card at a good price whether it grades a PSA 3, PSA 4, or PSA 5. If you thought I was trying to insult you, I apologize. Just stating that your rose colored glasses might have you grading the card a little higher than it should be. Still a great card at a great price.

Why not have it graded before selling. There are a lot of fake cards out there and it is not difficult to put some wear and tear on one to make it seem more authentic.

It would put every buyer at ease and you would get your money back from the grading in the sale.

I would not suggest buying a raw 1986 Fleer without being able to hold it in your hand to look for the tell tale signs of counterfeting.
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

Yes I'm aware, But anybody who has dealt with me knows I can be trusted..

Second.. I've purchased I don't know how many raw Jordans off ebay which were all legit and now in holders.. "the last one was a BGS 9" I posted a thread about it on here..

I can get more for it graded than I'm asking but just needed some quick cash and don't have a PSA membership at the moment..

If it don't sell I'll eventually get it graded, But I'm offereing a great deal to the boards so Maybe someone will grab it..

For anybody who "knows" this set spotting a fake Jordan (even from a cruddy scan) is very simple, My 8 year old son can do it..

Bobby a 3?! Lol, c'mon, have you seen what passes as a 3 for a modern card, with all sincerity have you graded a lot of this set? Dizzle is one of the most knowledgable 80's basketball guys I've ever dealt with. It's kind of a douche move to derail someones honest attempt at a sale. The picture is there for anyone to judge, his thread wasn't titled guess the grade. Also, as he said it's easy totell fakes if you know what you are doing, if you arent comfortable buying something you shouldnt be buying it, leave it for someone else. I think that price is more than fair. Which one of us hasn't offered something up for a discounted price due to the need of a quick sale. Ebay is a hassle to sell these because they need to be graded and that can take more time than people want to wait. If you do want to send it in Dizzle I'll send it in for free for you as you've been more than fair in our past dealings. ...turnaround time lately isn't pretty but I would send 7 day.

I said '3' or '4'. If I am wrong, then I will eat crow. I would like to know what grade it would bring, as I consider myself a pretty fair grader. If I am wrong, then I am wrong......

PS - I also said it was a great price - never attempted to derail the thread. Dizzle knows it is a great price.

Dizzle- I'm not a huge basketball guy, but I thought the way to spot fakes in 86 Fleer dealt with the orange check to the right of "premier". Legit copies have spots here, most fake copies have solid orange. I cannot tell from the scan, based on the only test I know. What are the other "telltale" ways to spot fakes in this set? This is a good forum to educate the rest of us. Thx and nice card. Good luck on your sale.

There's a few different versions of the fakes.. the check to the right is one way to tell but in a scan it's hard to tell sometimes, You can check other things like the contrast between blues in the name tag and side boarders to how thick the black lines are on the front. some fakes have the eyes solid on the bulls logo on the back, the period is missing in 27.2 in his stats, etc...

I've made mention of how to tell and posted pics on here in the past if you do a search..

Surely a 9 if not.. Nice card
  • That's a beautiful card. T/B centering will keep it in a 9, though L/R looks great to me and that is the more important in my world.

So your asking price of $350.00 was right on, as the VCP on a 5.5 is $385.00. So $350.00 plus the grading & shipping fees and you are right at the number.

Dizz ... how is the rest of your set doing? I remember when you bought that raw set off eBay and you got some AMAZING grades on those!
    STAY HEALTHY!
