Should Sellers add videos of the coins they are selling?!

Saw this on EBay: Listing
I thought it was great to see a video of a toned coin as we all know how they can look differently in hand and at various angles. With the video capabilities of smart phones, I personally think it would be worth the little extra effort. Do you think we will see more of this?
(This isn't my coin nor do I know the seller)

However, in this case, I think its a waste of time and therefore money. At that ask price, the guy is either buried or fishing to have taken the time to video toning of that type. A similar coin could almost certainly be found at any show in under an hour for less than $90.
<< <i>I've seen it on a couple of toned coins and found it beneficial to both the seller and potential buyers. They were multi-thousand dollar coins with only a fractional premium added due to the toning.

This listing was just an example of adding a video of a coin. Also, I would buy that coin for under $90 easily.

If everyone were to do it, the next step would be sellers hand deliving toned coins prior to purchase and then someone would want everyone to do that too
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
kind of unfortunate to spend all that time & effort on images and video to end up with a sub-par representation
.

i usually do not see good reviews, including when i was doing the coin video thing.
the extra effort and creativity do not seem to be a good idea for coins imo

I was thinking the same. I don't think the video likely did that coin much justice. I think a well done photo would have both required less work and produced a better result. That's not to say that good video presentations can't be done, but this wasn't one of them.

<< <i>Once the coins start moving around by themselves and doing cute things (like cats do) we will see loads of video. Until then not so much. >>
Video allows you to evaluate the coin's behavior and predict how well it is likely to get along with the other coins in your collection.

Agree, has got to be the guy who called himself monstarcoins.See if his weird U-Tube video isnt very similar!
Sometimes a well made video can capture cartwheel luster in a manner that a photo cannot. This is not one of those videos.
That is the problem with being too fancy these days,
you need to write for ipod, andriod, RIM, Microsoft etc.
i would not make things to fancy as not to cut out
low-tech guys with lots of money. the main point is
to sell stuff the easist way and get the most $$$$$.

One that I can stare and and examine.
eBay pictures are almost always too small. And that video does not help.
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
Not a bad idea, but that video really doesn't tell you much more than the seller's photos do. I've seen better videos.
<< <i>HA was doing this for more expensive lots. They had some machine that twirled the coin around while it was being video'ed. I thought it was useful. >>
Yeah...they tried to sell that option to me 1 time. They recommended it and said the coin warranted it. It was only gonna add $500 to what Heritage was going to get out of my coin. Probably was the icing on the cake for Heritage never selling any more of my coins.

I figure that when I decide to put this coin up on eBay that a video like this would help give the potential buyer an idea of what the coin really looks like.
