As many of you know, Mr. Gilroy Roberts designed the Kennedy half $. In 1976 he also sculpted a small statue
of the American Eagle for the Bicentennial. 200 silver and 3000 brass eagles were made.
The silver eagles were made of .925 fine silver ... with over 240 oz. of pure silver.
This is # 160. Enjoy!
10 oz. bar placed for size.
Great detail.
Keep on stack,n!!

I can't remember the weight but it was heavy..
On the statue I'm seeing 160/200, but the pic is a little blurry so it might be 160/300. regardless, this is really nice. Great depiction of a Bald Eagle.

You should melt it and make some poured bars...j/k
Congratulations!

I knew it would happen.
The big question is did you get it for melt?

I was joking SB! I couldn't imagine melting such a beauty in 999 Silver!

If you don't mind, what premium do you need to pay for it?
Spot + 1% ...... It worked out to $ 28.75 oz.
I was joking SB!
I know ..... I really did think it was a good joke!!

That's puts a whole new spin on the term "Silver American Eagle".
There, I said it.

It was what I was thinking. I glad someone else said it first.
I bet that would be the last chunk of silver you would be willing to sell from your vast pile of silver.
And 1% over is quite the bargain IMO!

In God We Trust.... all others pay in Gold and Silver!
Absolutely gorgeous piece.
Run size was indeed 200, and sterling (rather than .999). Silver weight at least 240 Troy ounces.
However - no matter the number produced or the specs - the beauty of the piece itself is amazing.
Congratulations on a terrific acquisition!
The fact that it is made of silver and limited to a production of only 200 pieces makes this one hunk of silver I wish I could get my hands on.
