You better be prepared to pony up $20K to pry one loose.

Russ: You may not be that far off! I wonder if my PR67DCAM is worth close to $10,000 then?

Probably not currently, but it may get there. There's actually been some growth in the 67DCAM pop over the years. There hasn't been a 68DCAM graded since April, 2003.

You can throw out the price guide on this one. I know of an owner who recently turned down $15K.

I vaguely remember that a board member bid on a couple of 1964 EBay proof sets with AH half dollars and ended up receiving a PF68 DCAM from our host on one of the two. Maybe that one is the last one so graded in 2003.

I wonder if he still has the coin.

It was the last one graded, and no, he no longer has the coin.

    Good luck.
I made 2 buy offers in March of 15,000 and 16,500.
    No sale.

    Thanks for the headsup, Caleb

Should be a very interesting Sunday July 15, auction

    Edited after seeing photos.
Just got to see photos of the 64 AH Dcam to many spots.
Needless to say I will not be bidding on any spotted coin!
Still a few nice SMS Kennedy's going off.

Really wish I had one to sell ya.....I wouldn't mind an extra $20k in my pocket now, or anytime.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

After seeing close up pictures of the half currently up for auction I can not imagine it getting a 68 DCAM grade today with all of the spots on the obverse of the coin [plus spotting on the reverse]. I can only imagine that the spotting developed after grading while the coin was sitting in the holder. It appears that the coin has milk spots from when it was minted and that prior to grading someone tried to remove the spots with a bath of some kind. It may be that the bath residue has caused the spots to grow in size and become more noticeable.

Wonder what it will sell for, or even if it will sell at all if there is a reserve.

After watching this one last night on Heritage go for over $4,000; anything is possible with the 64 (AH) PCGS PR68DCAM on teletrade. image

So the PF68DCAM 1964 AH half dollar up for auction apparently sold for $8,200.00.

The picture of the coin on the auction site showed a coin with multiple, very distracting milk spots on both sides of the coin, primarily on the obverse.

So for all of you Kennedy experts and fans out in forumland, does this hammer price seem low, high or just about right for this particular coin? And would you have been a bidder on this coin? If so, how much would you have been willing to bid on the coin?

I do not think I would have been interested in the coin simply due to the milk spots and would have looked for another example without these spots.

Looking at the coin once they put the picture up image

I hope PCGS did a "BUY BACK' on this one so the pops will go down to 7 until a new one is made. I would guess that the coin in the auction would have a hard time today getting into a PR66DCAM holder, let alone a PR68DCAM image

WAY TO HIGH for this particular example.
I have been looking for a 1964 AH DCAM for awhile now and to be honest after seeing the pictures I would not bid $10 for that coin.
I too hope PCGS did a buy back as that is a terrible example for a 68DCAM.
