Know any Pre-Rookies or Oddball Rookies?

While searching for some of my PC wants I have started coming across some "new-to-me" pre-rookies and oddball rookies that I have to own image While looking for them I figured I'd throw up this new thread and try to see if any of the forum members know of any. Ill start off....

Here is the reason I started looking and one of my Must Own cards

1995 Taco johns Iowa Barnstormers Kurt Warner

Here are some others I know of:

1989 Oscar Mayer Lions Police 11 Barry Sanders
image

1988 Florida Gators Burger King Emmitt Smith

This I lost out on today on eBay because I forgot it was ending toady image. So bummed because it looked damn cool. Not too sure of where it comes from though.

If you count stamps, there are three more at the bottom of this article:

The 1969 Tresler Comet football set also has a Sam Wyche Card that I think is his only card in an NFL uniform for all you Cincinnati Bengals fans

Not mine anymore. I got rid of it a few weeks ago. Graded out an 8 and I really wanted a 9. On the registry the 1979 is weighted higher for some reason. Never understood that.

The 1979 Family Fun Center Ozzie Smith card came on a perforated sheet given away at the stadium for 1 day only. It is very difficult to find. Below are some from my collection. Enjoy!

So I noticed Jordan has a few cards before the 86-87 Fleer out there but not to sure on some of them. Maybe a few of the board members can help out.

Wow this is great! Where'd you pick this up? Was it part of a set sold/given out at the stadium in Alaska?

I'll be honest-i have no idea. I bought it in the late 80s, and just "found" it recently. I always knew I had it, but I thought it was pretty worthless until I did an ebay search when this thread started.

The "1982" Anchorage Glacier Pilots card of McGwire was actually issued in 1988. It was produced in an edition of 10,000 and originally sold for $6.

I believe the card was also extensively reprinted/counterfeited later, whenthe "original" was selling for as much as $250.

There was also a Casey Candaele card in this format, and the team used a similar format for team sets in 1985-87.

By the way, most of those Jordans are unauthorized collectors' issues ("broders").

Thanx. This is one of the main reasons I started this thread. I wan't to find the cool XRC/pre-rookie stuff but make sure I am not buying fake and "broader" type cards that were printed after the fact.
