Bryce Harper SUPER nice today at the Marlins/Nats game with Pics

Went to the Marlins - Nationals game today at Marlins Park with my son. We had great seats for autographs and wanted to share. Got a few nice autographs aside from these also. Gio Gonzalez (who is from Miami) went into the stands and had a line formed and signed and posed for pictures with anyone who waited. Ian Desmond and Edwin Jackson also signed. Strasburg signed in another area but didnt stop for us BUT........Bryce Harper came and signed for everyone in the section. Adults, kids, balls, pics, hats....you name it. Probably signed 15-20. Posed for pics too as you can see. Nice full autographs on the sweetspot. Super friendly and accommodating. Pretty amazing stuff. Love the look of awe on my son's face when he is sighing his ball. We have been ripping boxes looking for Harpers for months now and to "meet" was awesome.

    AWESOME story!

Glad to see he realizes how much this stuff means to the fans. Tell your son to put those in a ball display case and keep them for life.

Thanks for sharing I love to hear about moments like this!

Very nice. Seems like you guys had a fun time together. I hope your son keeps the ball for a long time as a remembrance of some father/son time.
    STAY HEALTHY!

  • I'm sure you'll save the ticket stubs to verify that you have a rookie season signed ball from harper.
Get the pics on some kind of back up disc too.

One ball goes into my display here in the home office and the other is on his shelf. I was blown away with how great Harper was with all of the fans AND that my son was so impressed to meet him. I am an autograph collector so he has been in plenty of situations with famous people since he was very young and most players dont impress him. Harper really got him excited and that was great for me to watch. Usually it takes a big time WWE superstar to get him this fired up!

That is very cool. One of my best memories of being a kid was going to Bucks games in the late 70's and early 80's with my dad, and being able to go down to the locker rooms after the game and get autographs. Nice to see some of the current stars understand what a big deal it is to the younger fans.

there's more to that statement than meets the eye, read: act........

quite a bit of pressure on Bryce Harper just being Bryce Harper.

an organization which is absolutely desperate to achieve will hang their hopes on these new guys they've brought in, so it's up to those same guys to keep every baseball fan interested in them.

their veteran teammates have high expectations, as do their managers, coaches and ownership.

society will ask Bryce Harper, in particular, to represent the very best of his game by being polite and devoted to those people who help pay his bills.

then, those same people will expect him to go out and perform with a look of determination and a desire to beat the crap out of any opponent who tries to defeat him.

it's nice that kids love autographed baseballs, and some may one day appreciate how remarkable Bryce Harper has been so far just trying to be himself.

Harper is quickly becoming my favorite player to watch. I'm in Detroit...and have seen 4-5 of his games on TV. Once he went first to third on a single, and then stole home. This weekend he turned an everyday single into a double when Jason Heyward lazily played a ground ball in RF. I hope he keeps playing this way...reminds me of my all time favorite player, George Brett.

Your pics and experience with him makes me like him even more.

Great story. You might want to send your ball into PSA/DNA to get certified as a "Rookie" ball, e.g., ball autographed during player's rookie year.

    Great pics!!!!

I will say that I am impressed with how Harper is handling himself in the bigs.

He had more than a little baggage from college and the minors and it is great to see him playing as he does and seeing the interaction as in the OP.

Kudos to whoever told the kid how to do it the right way. I hope he runs all balls out, like he has been and takes pictures with kids his whole career and not just to put on a show during his first year.

Many other players should take note as stated in a previous post.
