From a distance it looks similar to your avatar.
<< <i>Is it described as "Rainbow Toned" and a 2K price tag? I ask as folks still describe anything with any color as RAINBOW! >>
It's a beautiful rainbow in a Helen Keller sort of way!

ROFL,The evening crowd is rocking tonight!
<< <i>Thanks Peacemonkey in advance for the nightmare I might have tonight after opening your thread! >>
And if I told you the coin was in PCGS MS64 plastic would the jumping sheep in your head come back?

My coin has been called AT by some but having the benefit of seeing it in hand I dont think it is but its a valid discussion IMO anytime they take on wild colors. What makes me think this coin in this OP is AT are the water like stains of color and the very metalic, non progression reds and blues that you see on countless raw ebay coins. They just appear in splotches instead of following natural color progressions. I am by no means anti peace toners obviously and I do think they can toned wildly, but within progression patterns we have come to accept. My particular avatar coin is a progressive toner and I dont think the toning is similar in any way other than having heavy red themes.
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
With Peace $ lately the most common "color" is brown.
Eric

Nope you can dress it up in any sort of plastic you like... As if the sheep did come back they'd still be frightening!

It really does ..i can't see a difference , all the markings appear identical lol
I guess it slipped into that time slot a few years ago when slabbing questionable toners was common.
Must have been that same period when all those crazy toned Moderns made it into the slabs.
On a more positive note, the reverse isn't too bad.

I am going to take a wild guess and say you dont collect too many toned coins. You prefer blast whites?
Best wishes,
Eric
Added - changing the pics to reveal the slab is one thing but you changed the "story" as well to "Teletrade Archives", but your original "story" heavily implied this was raw and the second coin from some dealer you knew that you posted recently.
<< <i>So that mushy spot on the Rev is actually partly on the plastic? If so, good! It was driving me crazy as it looked to be more on my screen than on the coin. The coin looks very different in the newly posted image - the large blackish spot in between the "E" and "R" is no longer crazy blue for starters.
Best wishes,
Eric

I changed the pics because I am being told using a dealers pic is bad form. So i used the more public teletrade pic. I never said anything about raw and I told no story.
<< <i>Now that you've changed images in the OP, I withdraw my comments. >>
Do you have a new opinion? Do you think its more NT or more AT looking now?
Best wishes,
Eric

I just saw the new pics in your OP... The real question isn't NT or AT but how fugly
<< <i>Either you changed the text or this is a different thread. I recall "this is the second coin I am posting from this dealer he is gonna hate me lets just say he has some really toned Peace dollars anyway..."

I dont see how that is a story, or at least a story that affects the topic of the thread. Whether I post 1,2 or 50 coins from a dealer, would that change your opinions on whther this coin is NT or AT? I think these are better pics to determine from but the other pics werent that bad either?
In the first rendition of my "story" I did purposely leave out that the coin is in PCGS plastic. But I did not say or imply it was raw. I left out the slab for obvious reasons regarding the philosophy of colorful peace dollars declared by PCGS
Did anyone else read a story in the first post in this thread about this being the second coin posted from this dealer and all that? I will hope I am wrong.
Eric
<< <i>Please show me the thread where you said what I saw in this thread because it appears as though you just deliberately lied to me and others and I am sure you don't want that rep.

What in the world does that matter?
Yes I edited my post. Yes it was the 2nd coin i posted from a particular dealer. Who cares? Has nothing to do with whether this coin is AT or not.

Hello,
you are editing faster than I care to keep up. In the time it took me to post last, you removed your statement that you did not tell a story. Have fun
Eric
<< <i>magikbilly please allow me to clear this up for you. It appears to be a nasty looking common Peace$ in 64. The OP changed the wording and the image in the OP. Hope this helps. >>
Yeah, thanks, I can see that. I gave no opnion of this coin BTW. The whole thread was mutating and posts were edited as I responded.
Best wishes,
Eric
Edited to add: An unfortunate string of events then - I withdraw any accusations and rely on my previous apology to PeaceMonkey.

Wondering if RickO could even fix that
I was not trying to deceive anyone. I was just half covering my ass that I was slamming a dealers coin for the 2nd time in the night.
Here's in essence what I took out
"This dealer is going to hate me. This is the 2nd coin I am posting from his inventory. He has some other great coins at a great price though, namely 1921 peace$ so hopefully that plug will make up for it."
<< <i>None of the edits were of substantial importance, except the removal of the dealers pics to use the teletrade pics.

Yes, I understand. You have my most sincere apology.
This is why I said "appears" in that post. I hoped I was wrong, and I am
Best wishes,
Eric

I agree. Did PCGS even look at the reverse? Dat aint no sixta fore!
<< <i>Somebody likes it. It is already up to $1150 plus the juice! >>
Or is that a reserve?
