Anyway IMO this coin is blatantly AT. Can anyone convince me otherwise?

    Even if it isn't, it sure is ugly toning. I concur on the toning being AT, IMHO.

    My coin has been called AT by some but having the benefit of seeing it in hand I dont think it is but its a valid discussion IMO anytime they take on wild colors. What makes me think this coin in this OP is AT are the water like stains of color and the very metalic, non progression reds and blues that you see on countless raw ebay coins. They just appear in splotches instead of following natural color progressions. I am by no means anti peace toners obviously and I do think they can toned wildly, but within progression patterns we have come to accept. My particular avatar coin is a progressive toner and I dont think the toning is similar in any way other than having heavy red themes.

    The coin in the op has those splotches that look like liquid but they are a differnet color. I think that luster breaks like the 24 coin shows are a good sign of NT but they have to be the luster coming thru, not some other color. Plus the shape seems very uniformly round like liquid splashing. Here is a closer shot of the 24 where you can see those splotches are a bit more random as luster breaking the toning movement. Can also see that all the color progress, even in short areas as opposed to just appearing. I know pics make it tough so maybe the OP coin looks right in hand. But it certainly makes DHall's statement about toned P$ interesting considering it is in a PCGS 64 holder.

    Nope you can dress it up in any sort of plastic you like... As if the sheep did come back they'd still be frightening! image

    I'm not going to try and convince you that it's not AT.
    I guess it slipped into that time slot a few years ago when slabbing questionable toners was common.
    Must have been that same period when all those crazy toned Moderns made it into the slabs.

    On a more positive note, the reverse isn't too bad.

    So that mushy spot on the Rev is actually partly on the plastic? If so, good! It was driving me crazy as it looked to be more on my screen than on the coin. The coin looks very different in the newly posted image - the large blackish spot in between the "E" and "R" is no longer crazy blue for starters.

    Added - changing the pics to reveal the slab is one thing but you changed the "story" as well to "Teletrade Archives", but your original "story" heavily implied this was raw and the second coin from some dealer you knew that you posted recently.

    I changed the pics because I am being told using a dealers pic is bad form. So i used the more public teletrade pic. I never said anything about raw and I told no story.

    I dont see how that is a story, or at least a story that affects the topic of the thread. Whether I post 1,2 or 50 coins from a dealer, would that change your opinions on whther this coin is NT or AT? I think these are better pics to determine from but the other pics werent that bad either?

    In the first rendition of my "story" I did purposely leave out that the coin is in PCGS plastic. But I did not say or imply it was raw. I left out the slab for obvious reasons regarding the philosophy of colorful peace dollars declared by PCGS

    Yes I edited my post. Yes it was the 2nd coin i posted from a particular dealer. Who cares? Has nothing to do with whether this coin is AT or not.

    My first entry was pseudo apologizing for using a dealers pics twice. Once i removed his pics and used the teletrade pics i no longer needed that apology. The apology is "the story" you are so mindblowingly hung up on.

    None of the edits were of substantial importance, except the removal of the dealers pics to use the teletrade pics.

    I was not trying to deceive anyone. I was just half covering my ass that I was slamming a dealers coin for the 2nd time in the night.
    Here's in essence what I took out

    "This dealer is going to hate me. This is the 2nd coin I am posting from his inventory. He has some other great coins at a great price though, namely 1921 peace$ so hopefully that plug will make up for it."

    It might be market acceptable, but it looks suspicious to me. Regardless I don't care for it, and I wouldn't pay more than melt for it regardless of what holder it resides in.
