Theodore Roosevelt had an interest in our coinage but I'm not sure if he was ever a collector.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Are there any coins (aside from those at the Smithsonian) attributed to those Presidents?

    Zoins,

Yes John Quincy Adams' collection was sold by Stack's in March of 1971, by request of the Massachusetts Historical Society. As for details on Jefferson's collection you might want to contact Eric Goldstein

Thanks for the info Greg. I just read "First Family: Abigail and John Adams" by Joseph Ellis which has some discussion of John Quincy Adams. It's nice to know our leaders have been collectors and that their coins have survived with the provenance intact.

I (along with another board member) own two coins, currently at PCGS for encapsulation, that were once the property of one of America's most popular presidents (in office during the second half of the twentieth century).

Well, JFK collected autographs. Perry was obviously right - TR's interest led to some of our greatest coinage.

It is well known that Franklin Roosevelt was an avid stamp collector. According the write-up in this coin and stamp set, he had a small coin collection as well. I remember seeing Dwight Eisenhower’s Bust dollar in a display at the Smithsonian.

Well, I don't want to speak for njcoincrank but he did include a hint when he said 'one of America's most popular presidents' so I'm narrowing your list to:

    Ike
    Kennedy
    Reagan
    Clinton

I don't know much about Ike, but we can probably remove Clinton from your list.

Eisenhower was a much loved, former 5-star General and I would go on to argue that Clinton was one of our more popular and charismatic Presidents

I know a couple of former mayors and a former senator that collect or collected. Never met any presidents who did. On that note, I never met any , nor any vice presidents, either. (there's a pun in there)

You might note that of the ten Presidents in office during the second half of the twentieth century, five were democrates and five were republicans. As of the past 62 years since 1950 to now, six were democrates and six were republicans. Steveimage

Clinton failed to win a majority of the popular vote both in 1992 and 1996. There were many people who did not like him at all.

A portion of Truman's coin collection is on display at the KC Fed Money Museum. Nice display, but the coins were so-so. Here's a link:
