Nike poster cards

In the mid 1980's (started 1983 I think) Nike started issuing 5 x 7 cadboard "poster cards" of their 36 x 24 posters for display in sporting goods stores. These came in all sports.

I have recently gotten a batch of the BB players graded and the set is now listed here: http://www.psacard.com/PSASETREGISTRY/Login.aspx?ReturnURL=http://www.psacard.com/PSASETREGISTRY/MYSETREGISTRY/mycollection.aspx?c=115513.

These are the ones I am aware of. I have written Nike and asked about the numbering and asked for a list of the players vs numbers. They responded that they did not keep track of this. (hard to believe !)

A black background series in thicker card board with a hole on top started with # 290221 Carlton / Schmidt and appears to end with Ryne Sandberg #290249
Another series appears to start with hGooden # 290852 and end with #290876 Mark McGwire.

The series picks up again with lighter stock and white border 290911 Puckett through 290978 Larkin

The last series I have seen changes toa 4 x 6 inch format in the lighter card stock with white borders starting and the numbering completely changes to #5528 - #5591 with players like Griffey, McGwire, A Rod and Jeter.

Does anyone out there have a complete list of these. ?

Does anyone know of any other players / numbers other than what is now listed in the PSA set ?

Were all of their posters done as these countertop cards ??

thanks, ArmourPhil

    ArmourPhil:

Your link is not working, as it directs to your personal Set Registry, rather than the one the public can see.

I'd love to see some scans of these cards. I'm honestly not familiar with the issue, and would love to earn more. Especially the Schmidt / Carlton

I have talked to him and he was only aware of the type 1 thicker black poster cards with the holes punched in them.

    Phil's link

Phil, I think you're going to have to edit your personal settings for your set to make it visible to the public.
