Hello Everyone,
I was wondering, is it silly bringing coins to the great state of Hawaii? And what about slabbed coins?
Thanks everyone,
Jeff

I would say that if you are comfortable your coins should be comfortable as well.
Do it!

Best.

I'm kinda perplexed by this question. What do you mean?
Thank you everyone,
Jeff
<< <i>I am just really worried about my very shinny proof MS 69's getting humid, and creating moisture and getting funky surfaces. I am seriously looking at Kona, or Hilo. It's hard to decide between the two!

It's more likely the salt air you gotta worry about. Plus the Big Island vog if you have respiratory issues.

hilo is very humid and rains a LOT.
but if you keep your coins in an air conditioned bank (safe deposit box) it shouldn't matter.
I stay north of Lahaina Maui two weeks almost every year.
We always seem to bump into Clint Eastwood's family when we go to the market there. Nice family! But they don't collect coins!

If you leave them out in the open ocean air, then you will probably get some interesting toners.
Other than that, I haven't experienced any problems with humidity.
Milk spots yeah, but I doubt humidity has anything to do with that.
If people are really concerned about moisture/humidity/etc damaging their (even-slabbed) coins, what would happen if they bought & used the "vacuum-sealer" machines used to store & protect food against spoilage & freezer-burn that one sees in infomercials? Would they be effective in safely "preserving" one's coins?

<< <i>Should be ok hopefully! I have a friend who had a dcam pr 70 set of PCGS gold buffs.......they turned and he sold at a loss....... >>
Considering these are supposed to be 99.99% pure gold, not sure how they would/could have "turned".
<< <i>Any issues with the extreme cold of alaska and coins? >>
Nope, because when it's that cold I am snug as a bug inside looking at ebay, and watching movies!
