<< <i>BRING THE NATIONAL TO CALIFORNIA.....or Vegas.....
I might have said it here before, but with the majority of dealers and collectors living East of the Mississippi, it's unlikely to happen. California residents even have an ace in the hole - one of the promoters, Mike Berkus, lives in SoCal! If we ever decide to try California again, pdub1819, you better get everyone you know to show up and support the show! The Anaheim shows in 2000 and 2006 were not very impressive.
As for Vegas, the only type of convention that really works there are the kind where there is little buying and selling of merchandise, like the Consumer Electronics Show. A National there would be a disaster; dealers would show up late every day having been at the tables all night, and people would be spending their budget gambling rather than on cards, with the rare exception of someone winning big then spending it in the room. The show would be a bloodbath, reminiscent of the 2003 Atlantic City National. >>
The promoters for the National have said that some of their most successful shows have been the ones in Anaheim, but the clowns that run the Anaheim Convention Center think their sh!t don't stink and have rules that make it logistically impossible for them to go back.

Remember Doug, as I mentioned to you already, it's just a Saturday train ride and a ticket. I'm sure Jon would keep you company.

I'm jealous as he!!. I guess this even is on my bucket list. It would be nice if CU had a table, meeting spot where members could meet and greet one another.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I'll be there from Tuesday night through Friday night, leaving Saturday morning, I think. Hope we can all meet somewhere. Staying at the Sheradon Harbor, or whatever it's called. This will be my fifth in a row.
Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.
With the admission at $20 a day this seems quite expensive for a consumer type show. It seems like the rate goes up ever year wonder how this will affect attendence?
I just found out I'll be in Baltimore for a US Lacrosse training. I have a chance to go Friday, but won't get there until 4 pm. Is two hours worth it? Will anyone be there after 4 pm or do the dealers stay to the very end? Any help would be appreciated. Tony
Collecting Topps, Philadelphia and Kellogg's from 1964-1989
I got hotel and am so stoked !! will be there friday afternoon and probably saturday morning....looking for good cards and GREAT eats......will be wearing miami dolphin hat/shirt, so if ya see me, say hello.....ivan

Can you please add the dates of the National in the title of this thread?
Thank you!
'Appreciate it, thanks!
It will be a lot easier to see the countdown this way, I hope I can make it.
