I came across a few photos of the grocery store here in town in 1928. Interesting are the prices of things, very much showing the value of the money of the era. 1 pound can of Salmon, 21 cents. Loaf of bread, 8 cents, pound of coffee, 39 cents. Soap, 5 bars 21 cents, quart of milk 10 cents, cleanser, 2 cans 9 cents. ........showing us WHY we see old barber and wl halves worn smooth

It was a very different world at that time....Cheers, RickO
  • Very interesting. Makes me wonder what they'll be saying 25 years from now. Coinage under $1 will be non existent, if coinage still exists. You heard it hear folks! I'll be bumping this in 25 years if I'm right! image

Think of : going to the bank, and receiving a brand new " 1928" Peace dollar! or a brand new, Buffaloe! Man, a roll of " Pristine" 1928 Peace dollars/Buffaloe nickles. Man! I know, only if one can afford to do so, pretty rough back then. One can dream, huh?
