Keeping in mind we are grading two dimensional pictures, I have the Lincoln at MS66 or better, and the Washington at MS65 due to the weakness on IGWT and a few tics
on the bust itself. JMHO Shag

i believe the 34 quarter is the light motto so it will be weak unless it's not the lm variety ?

65 for the cent... and 64 for the quarter... Cheers, RickO

The 1934 WQ is a Light Motto coin, which means IGWT is supposed to look like that. This is the most scarce variety for the 1934 issues and is worth a premium, though not substantial.

Lincoln - MS66 shot 67 depending on what is happening just above the "O" on the rev. A tough coin to get a 67 grade.

I'll guess 66 for the Lincoln and 65 for the Washington.

ms 66 for the cent and 64 for the quarter. the quarter looks weak for a 65
  • Provided that the images are not hiding any contact marks, I think the cent has a good chance at grading MS67 (MS66 minimum) and the quarter would likely grade MS65.

Based on the background of the photos, for whatever worth...I've purchased from this seller on eBay a few things. I felt every coin I received was very strong for the grade, and photos were accurate.

I think the quarter is most likely a 65, I am not a lincoln collector so I will pass on that one.

That is close to a 66 on the Philly mint '48 Lincoln IMO.
Nice and clean but a 65 I think.
    Same on the quarter.

the lincoln...above the "o" was an area someone "worked on" something...his obverse has alot more nicks that were hiding
    "not being sent in"...oh well

    the quarter
on his jaw is a minor noteable with 2 on his neck
still should fetch a 64 and is going in...65 isn't out of question but not expected by me
but a "light motto in 64" for $45+ grading should pay...not much but still worthy

The Washignton is the Light Motto variety , and looks 65 maybe 66. and I would say the Lincoln looks 66.

I hadn't seen this thread before now, but before reading the above by you, my initial thoughts were that the lighting was likely hiding some nicks/marks on the lincoln.
That's the top of shot/lighting that will do that.

The same type of thoughts for the quarter....

The lighting the person used for those pictures is not favored by me...either buying or selling.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    Based on your photo's...

The Washie looks like a slider to me so I say AU58... The Lincoln MS64RD.

Bochiman I agree with you and selected the proper emoticon this time! image

The Lincoln is so flooded with light that you can not see the chatter in the obverse fields nor make out the small strike through on the O in One Cent on the reverse.

The Washie shows friction all over the obverse IMHO which could be album slide marks on or just typical rub attained by a brief life in circulation.

I agree with MOC. I feel the Quarter is clean and deserves a MS66 grade. Amazing luster! The Lincoln is also beautiful and will grade MS66-67.

best attempt here...different angle to show some of it
    circled area's show cuts
on his lower shoulder is a bunch of scatter too
that area above "O" in one on reverse is the grade killer...something was worked in that area
i'll give this away in the future to some y/n...image
yeah i wouldn't do it to pcgs or future owner send this in with that area above the "O"
it is a study in an image for future reference...$4.50...cheap tuition too

I believe the graders will let the shoulder go and focus on the fields...66.

The marks and chatter on the shoulder might preclude a 67 grade, and might not. The area on the rev may just be from the dies and not worked, I have seen many Lincolns that have that look in that part of the rev design before. But I'd really have to see it in hand to say for sure, still a nice coin and should makd a nice YN gift if you go that way.
