Well if you get a coin just return it and move on, seller can't use stock photos for coins. Who knows though maybe you should write him and just explain the situation and cancel the sale. Good luck as usual Teddy!!

I went to the link you sent from google and saw this image :
    image

It would be great to find stuff like that for $10.50 on eBay if it was like that, in hand. (edited to reduce the size)

Sorry to see this happen, but I had the same thing over a year ago a lady was selling a 1952 proof quarter I knew the picture was showing the S on the chest (superbird) so I won that lot for 54 bucks, the next day she listed another one same picture I wrote her asking why she was using the picture for the coin she just sold me, she apologized and said she would remove, and put up the other picture. She guranteed me the coin I bought was the one pictured. she did not change the picture so I made sure I won that auction too, Well as you can guess NEITHER Coin was the superbird variety, I told her she was using fake pictures that were not her coins and why, all she could do was say send them back, which I did and she did pay the return postage and I notified ebay................ Enjoy tom

you can avoid disappointments like this by following a few simple rules. read the description. (all of it... even the part where the seller describes the coin as a Fine) if you have questions such as "is the coin imaged the one you are selling" contact the seller before bidding/buying. lastly but probably most important, use common sense. the picture is professional quality, while the remainder of the auction is basic ebay provided information. this should be a HUGE red flag. at $10.50 id call it very cheap tuition.

Because the amount of money earned is a significant percentage return, yet the total value received is enough that some buyers won't bother with it or won't pay attention to it that they have been scammed.

While I agree that sellers using misleading pictures is bad, would we be patting the back of a person who got a $19.000 coin for $14? That didn't seem to fly for the guy who got a $15,000 coin for $1600 - in that instance he was a crook if I remember correctly. Seems like the right thing would have been to let the seller know they had a very expensive coin at which time the buyer would have found out it wasn't.

I think that if an informed seller sets a price and you pay that price then you can hardly be called a crook.

The worst thing that you could be called is an opportunist. The correct label would be BUYER. And just don't boast about the score.

If it's an obvious mistake then inform the seller and sleep better.
    Have a nice day

well, youve learned to pat yourself on the back, now its time to learn to kick yourself in the azz. with enough practice, you will become more graceful at both
