That Closing Bell did not ring happy today....

Not happy on that side of the house today... and neither am I.
It never holds high long enough and I feel hands reaching into my pockets.

Glad I took that high gain stock completely out when it was on the upswing.
It will keep reappearing as PMs, so I'm glad there's a dip to get in on long term.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

I lost more yesterday in my mutual funds, then any one purchase ever in PMs.

    I get ya,
and have a budget plan for over a years worth of investing, so I'll buy some now, and later.

(ps. I like the back and forth... Earning my place in the forums... )

Ya know, everytime apmex puts on a sale, the silver spot goes up a buck.
I don't want the price to go back just yet. I'm still buying..

"Averaging in" is very difficult to do when you are establishing a brand-new longterm position, but it's really the safest and best way to go. It becomes more like an old-time savings account, after awhile.

A brand-new position always seems to be subject to the whims of the market fluctuations but if you manage your other cash flows and income, the precious metals take care of themselves. In this environment (bias towards inflation, QE) the value of your position will eventually lift off of the baseline and grow. Along the way, you will see some huge spikes that might tempt you to sell. Don't.

Actually, I think it's more like when silver silver goes up a buck, APMEX has a sale hoping to cash in on the buyers thinking this is a run.

I don't think next week will be much better for stocks. On the bright side, PM seem to be heading north again. But, will it keep going??????

The old adage...'sell in May and stay away', could definitely hold true this year. Cheers, RickO

I dumped my Deferred Comp $$ into a bond fund before this last drop and so far, I saved about 14%. Now, the question is, when to go back into the stock funds. If it is anything lst the last couple year, the time would be this fall. However, with the election coming up, I don't know what effect this will have on the markets.
