I highly respect PCGS for their professionalism and integrety,
however I don't really care for their new "prong" holders.
I was wondering if I submitted any coins, would I have an option to
request the older holders or will the coins return in the new "prong"
holders ?

The answer is no. Going forward PCGS will be using only the new edge-view gaskets. I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

Nobody likes change but in time they will grow on you
I didn't like them at first!

Never will!!!
CHANGE IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why? Don't you want to see the edge of your coin?
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Some folks just do not like change.
Unless, of course, its the addition of the variety, they just found, for the set registry. Then its ok.
Remember the fuss Realone raised over Heritage's new search tool? I have no idea whether or not he's embraced that just yet but it was a change he didn't like.
Not that it was bad, he just didn't like it.
I'm not a big fan of change either but I can understand the need for this one and as I stated, it's a whole lot less intrusive than the other guys.

The main potential issue I see is with in-slab photos. On the one hand, it's now hard to image coins with the intention of making them look as if they are raw. On the other hand, the prongs are evidence that the coins have been certified by PCGS.

I heartily agree with this statement.

Are sandwiched coins a problem with PCGS or NGC slabbed coins?

I do believe I've read about them on one of the forums
Over time, people may come to prefer coins in prong and Secure Plus holders.

I suppose this is so, if the sentiment is about opaque vs. transparent. But the NGC prongs are much smaller and conceal less of the coin.
