You can't go wrong with Pinnacle, they're a 1st class act. I bought a few coins from this outfit and I've always been very happy with the deal and mostly the coin. This one your showing is the BOMB!!! Just beautiful in every way.....Joe

Hmmmm, the grade. With the small images it's really hard to judge the grade. So here it goes....Luster strike = MS-66 full head. I hope I'm close. But in this case the eye appeal is over the top and I think that says more about the coin than the grade, but I'm guessing the grade is gem or better.... image

    I'm thinking 66 but the head doesn't quite look full.....but I don't think you'd buy one without a full head, so 66FH!

Kathleen told me last week that Pinnacle Rarities is working on software upgrades to make the images larger.

I got my registry 1917-P SLQ and my Barber dime from them. Great people to work with....and they do layaway which helped me considerably.
    Your SLQ? 66FH with a green bean....IMO
    Very nice coin!

I check Pinnacle's site quite a bit - and recognised the coin immediately...

quite a few other posters have guessed correctly - so - I'll refrain from guessing

and just say - I love the look - and a great addition to your collection.

The coin has a better strike than most Unc. 30Ps. You see full detail in the rt. knee & drapery. You also see more shield detail than normal. Surfaces look clean. I'd have to see that coin in hand to decide whether I like the toning or not.

At best, this is a just made it full head, which is not unusual for the 30P. I would not pay strong $ for a full head coin based on this example.

  • Yeah great looking coin bestclser1 ! I know I quibble on some grades with your coins but I like all of them. Keep em comin! image
  • 66 close to a FH, but not quite
  • breakdownbreakdown Posts: 2,152 ✭✭✭✭✭
Kathleen has always been great to deal with -- congratulations on a beautiful coin. All the quibbling back and forth about whether it's a FH or not is a good illustration of why I 've avoided SLQs. Such an up or down strike designation will never make sense to me. I know i would prefer yours over a boring white example with a full earhole/ separating hairline etc. Enjoy it -- it's a beauty.image
