US Develops its Own Coin Design Style?

I just received a link to this Numismaster story about how the US is developing their own coin design style.

I just had to snicker since I don't see anything sugnificant with the "stuff" the Coinage Advisory Committee has approved since their inception thats anything I'd really brag about.

I mean, you can polish a poopie as much as you want but it's still going to be a poopie.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

The name is LEE!

I got that emailed link, too, and read the article. I'm not quite understanding the
concept of the "new U.S. coin design style" that's emerged. It's Friday, late afternoon,
I must be tired or something.

Yeah, but if you have several different polished finishes, people have to buy more than one of your poopies to have a complete set.

I can see that kneejerk reaction to anything US Mint has done is considered poopie, but I got out both the 911 and Star-Spangled Banner proofs and I think effort put into these coins show. I like the different textures of shading to the "cameo" shading and the effects they have on the coins and medals. Personally though, I think the Chinese are way ahead of us in the shading methods used in their Pandas. I was blown away by the Panda as I tilted it and saw many different views of shading.
BTW, is Dan Carr on the CCAC? He has so much to add in both minting ideas and symbolism used on coins.

Considering the the design by committee politically correct rending the last few years the best they came up with is a copy of the UHR Double Eagle.

Sorry but all I see is failure.
