I purchased a ton of these Lincoln cents and I find them to be very attrctive. As far as any movement in the price, I'm not sure of any but with that said I really don't follow the price changes, at least on these Lincoln cents I don't. I wish I could be more of a help as I feel your pain being out of work and all. How many sets do you have? Are you planing on selling?

I might sell, on the amount I have, approx. 6 boxes,2 log cabins,2 form. and 2 of the rarest,4th in the series. Probably,at least 400 varieties or so. I dumped many boxes, about 6 months ago, mostly the 3rd in series. The ones that are insignificant. Would you hold on or sell? I'm not really that "desperate" yet.

I didnt know the LP4 was the rarest ? I thought the LP1 was , i'd be interested possibly in those (LP1) if they are sealed mint boxes and appear on the BST,cheers and good luck , i hope your fortune turns and you've no need to sell.Always darkest before the dawn mate.

I'm talking (bank boxes ) not from the mint! and yes, the 4th P mint are the rarest. Thanks for the offer, but I guess, I'll hold on to. I do have about 8 rolls from the mint.not in the LP box, though. Thanks guy's for the encouragement. We coin guy's got to stick together!

Oh yes, I remember the log cabin hype and cashed in big on those. I got 8 bank boxes from my local back for face value then sold them on ebay for $325 a box on average... the power of hype... gotta love it.

Tons of varieties, but the problem is most for each type are insignificant. The thing with sealed boxes is that you end up with loads of the same varieties - I am still sitting on rolls of six different DDRs, most of which came from just a few broken boxes. It's doubtful demand will exceed the readily available supply anytime soon, so if you can get a decent price, I see little risk in selling (IMHO), especially if you can use the money now.

They will not be going up in value.... hype is past and only specific collectors are even paying attention to these anymore. Your choice, but my advice is to unload them. Cheers, RickO

Ya got me thinking about all the rolls I purchased and alll the talk about all the spots on the planchets. So I bustd out a roll just to see these spots first hand, and yes they were there. So what to do with all of the Lincoln I have now? I know, I'll put them in a Whitman folder, that'll take care of the loose ones, right? So now the spots are really coloful! What the heck???????????? Kinda reminds me of the sixties

You might get some nibbles on unopened boxes but plain rolls might be a tough sell

Better yet was 4 cents for $10. Figure 2500 cents per box/4=625 x $10=$6,250 per Box...Sounds even better with my math...image

Thanks guy's for all the posts and care! Once again, concerning the mintage of 1st series compared to the 4th series, doesn't even come close! 1st.-P+D = 634,800,000 4th. P+D = 327,600,000 / 1st.series.P =284,400,000 4th.series.P= 129,600,000 Big difference. I still prefer the "Formative years" (2nd. in series) Thanks again guy's!
