<< <i>amazing excuse.........pretty darn original........does anyone ever take responsibility ever? >>
Less and less everyday.

I think it's won not one.
I, too, can believe this one. About 25 years ago, my uncle Gus, along with his son, went out one afternoon and drank the rest of the day away. The next morning, they discovered that they had spent some of that day buying a Buick.

Just the other day, I had a winning bidder email me 10 minutes after auction close:
"AM NOT TOO HAPPY ABOUT THE 2 COINS THAT I HAVE WON TONIGHT BECAUSE IT SEEMS THAT THERE WAS THE SAME BIDDER BELOW EVERY COIN THAT I BID ON & THAT SMELLS FISHY TO ME! I WOULD LIKE TO CANCEL THE SALES AND YOU CAN LET HIM BUY THEM BOTH."
The underbidder they mentioned had bid on several of my lots, and they won three outright (plus the two more by default).

I've done drunk EBAY, got some great stuff that way, seems I always go for quality when inebriated
At times in the morning I hope to be out-bid, but if not I pay up and get great coins!
<< <i>I think this buyer is much better than some buyers that pay and try to file a ebay claim to retutn it with some excuses. I always allow buyer to back out if they did not want the item. >>
I was thinking something along those lines. No drawn out drama and delays, ending in no sale, shipping costs, and ugly feedback.
That doesn't make it okay, of course. Just a lot less painful than it could have been.

Doesn't eBay ban buyers after three non-payer strikes?

It is tragic when one points out another's misspelling but commits an obvious word-choice error while doing so.

That's funny same thing happened to me once a few years ago with a buyer.
