Did you guys read page 74 in the May issue of the Numismatist?

Society of Bearded Numismatists - S.O.B

Intent of the Society - "to disrupt and wreck all meeting which threaten to become too boring, too serious or too political ... [in the] sincere belief that we will be of some service to numismatics in the process."

I like it!

Now thats just to funny, I just read it. It also says members may bribe their way into office by making donation image Prerequisites are a beard , a healthy liver, a strong dislike of rules, regulations and related pomposity, and a sense of humorimage

I thought the SOB's disbanded 25 years ago! I attended one meeting back then. FWIW, PNG meetings have better food, but are not as much fun.

Article said beardless men and also women can join by being sponsored by a S.O.B. member (exact wording may differ as numismatist is now downstairs)

I guess I'm outta luck. I'm bearded, a rebel and a curmudgeon with a wry sense of humor, but the healthy liver requirement rules me out!!! image
