Your opinion of the price of Silver.....

DoubleEagle59DoubleEagle59 Posts: 8,307 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'm curious about everyone's opinion regarding the price of silver.

My question is.....

Do you think the price of silver will hit $60 per ounce sometime between now and by Dec. 2013?

Simple yes or no will suffice.

Thanks!

I have lost faith on silver lately, though in one and an half year everything can happen. I would say yes.

We've peaked. Upper $teens by end of this year I'm sad to say. I'm already in the avg. down mode on the "put back" part of what I have. image
But to answer your question (kind of)...upper $teens by end of this year. I can't tell beyond that without knowing for sure who will be our next President.

I love stackin and jinglin silver as much as the next guy, probably more, but I think

No to $60 silver for the next couple of years for two reasons:

One, the chart, and two, I'll bet there are a lot of ounces for sale in the $40's, I know I have some, you all probably do to image

i don't care but it's interesting to see all the no votes on a pm forum. That's good news for the shiny metal bulls. Personally I could make a case for $16 or $60. It's a highly speculative beast. MJ

Yes, just remember that $20, then $30 seemed unreal.

But that's my point, we've been there...and alot more (almost $50), it's peaked. Tell me why it has a reason to run back to $50.
Without another Quantitative Easing there is absolutely no chance of $40 let alone $60, plus who'll be President will play a major part imo. The OP is asking for opinions and that is all just my honest humble opinon.

Spring low followed by ups later in the year. Just saw we opened under $30, we'll see how long that lasts.

I'd say no to $60 this year, I'd bet metals will be beat down pre-election. Mirror of 2008 swing, dunno but it's possible. Lower it goes the more I get to grab so long as my consulting gig stays on.

I dont see 50.00 this year at all. The election will play a large part on whether this bull run is over or has a few last stands IMO.

But , I am still not on the hit 50 again camp. Too many people saw it rise and fall hard, not once, but three times over the past 18 months. Who do you think is going to be buying at 45-50 if it were to happen to run again, I can tell you very few, and the reason is" They will be afraid of a repeat hard fall and loss of $" It can go up , but it will get to a point that buyers back off , then when no new buying, boom!

    YES.

I see a Large temporary peak or two close to that kind of high, but with a more modest average, above $35. Assumed a lot of hype when I got into this recently, but the underlying reason for getting in and long term silver and other PMs seem sound to me. These are good buyer times. Expect another debt ceiling raise and more QE by then (doesn't everybody?), if not more. I don't think it matters who is in office, as the standard MO is likely to continue, until it can't. Both scenarios are good for PMs.

In times of trouble cash is king. If gold and silver "hold" while everything else if falling (they usually don't) you will have a good indicator of their future.

Last april may when it was in the 40s most were convinced it would blow past 50 and beyond. But it fell. Now that it sits at around $30 many think it is a bad buy. I dont know what it will do next. But for me PMs will continue to comprise at least 20% of my worth. If it goes under 30 I will buy more, if it goes over $40 I will sell more. If it stays at $30 I will buy more as funds and opportunities arise. Outside of a family emergency the only thing I would dump a large amount of it on is the perfect piece of land

I would have to join the No crowd. New production will be coming online by then with an out of the ground cost of $5 an ounce. Gold and Silver both taking a pounding today, even more than the markets. I believe the election in the fall will have a negative affect POST election on metals, but again, just MHO.
