Is it going to be possible to tell if these have been searched or not?

So I got these boxes earlier, there were 8 total. 7 Full, 1 with 6 packs.

Each box is guaranteed "one lebron james game floor card 'on average'"
"Two sequentially numbered rookie cards 'on average'"

I decided to open the box with 6 packs, I pulled no floor card but I did get one of the sequentially #'d rookies - so I highly doubt they have been resealed (opened up just like any other pack).

However, I don't want to go through a box to find if the floor cards were still there because they are $150-$180/box. I don't want to get slapped with SNAD/negatives because I sell a box and they don't get the lebron but pulling one of the 3 guaranteed pulls from just 6 packs kind of put me at ease.

Anyway, what do you propose to be the best way to get rid of these full but opened boxes or figure out to see if they were searched or not? I bought a collection and they were all like this, no shrink wrap but full (except for the one box that I opened, of course)

Please let me know what you guys think!

Sean

Wow, Im surprised you dont know the answer to your question!
  • Why would I have pulled one of the "guaranteed" hits out of the partial box if they were all searched?

It came from an ex-girlfriend, could it not have been a case related to something like a relative cleaning off a coin?

And seriously, there is NO NEED for the negative comments what so ever... I asked a question, if you have nothing to add move on...

I obviously know there is a very high chance the boxes have been searched, and I posted that... There is no need to add something negative.

edit: I just don't want to have to open an entire box to see if I get all guaranteed hits,,, but that looks like it is going to be my only option

As much as you guys think you know everything, I've seen plenty of situations where weird stuff happens and there isn't something deceitful behind it...

Most likely someone would be able to figure out how to and did find the thicker lebron floor cards. They only book $25 though. Maybe back then they were alot more $$$ and it was worth it for someone to search it back then. Its tough even if you pull a rookie besides leron and wade there isnt much else there.

most likely they could also be weighed to find the floor cards. I would assume them searched/removed

the last box with 6 packs left should tell you something right there. Most likely used to fill the boxes where he took out certain packs from.

I would just rip 'em all. You can't resell these in good conscience, because they have been opened and likely gone through. For all you know they could have started out as 12 boxes, opened until they landed a box hit, and the remaining packs moved to another box. So yeah, might as well rip 'em. Ripping is more fun anyway! image

Sean like I told you I'm not interested because that year I'm almost certain everything came wrapped. I'm sure the thicker cards were picked oUt, and there may have been sequencing for the RC's.

Hope you didn't spend a lot. The ones on eBay are all factory sealed.

If your not much into them, rip away and post scans!!!

Serial numbered to 799 or 1999? Name rookie or just a scrub?

My guess is that as was mentioned, someone had a case (think the case had 10 boxes) used a box as a guinea pig and figured out the sequencing on the floor cards and possibly the 799 rookies. Or rip til you get a Lebron rookie and piece meal everything back together. I hope that's not the case, but 8 boxes with the seals broken are a little worrisome.

Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

well now that you feel they have been searched what options do you have?
  • Selling them disclosing that they have been searched or cracking.

and life goes on. Hope the next guy is as honest as you.
  • So disclosing that some one is only going to get commons from the boxes makes selling them wrong?

    Sean,
I like your idea of full disclosure and selling them to someone who would enjoy ripping them. Don't listen to or respond to the guy who spends much of his
life as a hater on a message board.
