Great additions! I think I like the female Montana oddball the best.
  • Picked up some really nice items the last few months. A rare offering came up that I was able to snatch up. This would be a complete 1991 Baseball Fleer-issued set all signed by Terry Smith. I have the blank back proofs (except Puckett) signed by Terry, but not the regular issued Fleer card set. Also in that offering was an illustration book by Terry that may be one of the first ones he ever released. All of the prints are from 83/84/85. Never seen the book before. Several of the illustrations I had never seen as well. There is a very sweet Magic Johnson print, as well as one for Dr. J and Eric Dickerson. The book also has many other prints for Stanford Football, Super Bowl XIX, volleyball, tennis and others.

My quest to put together a complete set of signed 1991 Baseball is very close to complete. A very gracious collector on the West Coast sold me the signed McGwire and Henderson below. So, the only missing piece is the one and only Bo Jackson. I'm kind of suprised that I haven't seen one come up with all the signing Bo does, but I'll get it eventually!! Also picked up some other signatures so it's been slow and steady.

The last pic is of Terry and some of his work. My guess would be that these are the actual canvas' that he drew/painted the Pro Vision images on. Man would I love to have one of the those!!

Always great to see that stuff! Thanks again for sharing.
  • I love the artwork of these Pro-Visions. I gotta get serious and start looking for these cards more.

I always was drawn to his artwork after I first saw it. I collected the basic sets and learned of the Laker set through Beckett when it was issued, but never really chased it down. You have some great items there.

I noticed that he teamed up with Fleer for a game that was never made. I won a set on ebay from former Fleer exec Ted Taylor and it came with game instructions, marketing notes and such. I think it was a packet that was prepared and given out to pitch the idea. The 24 card set has his "TSC" logo on the back of the cards as well. I wish I would have kept the set together, but decided to sell individual cards years back.

I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.
  • Thanks as always guys. Mopar I had no idea of that set and it does look tough to get. There is a seller on eBay that has a bunch of them listed, but for pretty high prices. I appreciate the info, though, and thanks for posting it!!

Great thread. I have always loved these cards as well, very envious of the collection.
    Looking for FB HOF Rookies
  • That's a really cool, unique collection.I really enjoyed reading it.I,too, liked those Pro Vision cards back then. The kids out grew cards, but I'll grab those every so often at a show or flea market.Heck,I have boxes and boxes and loose packs upon loose packs of that early 90's Fleer stuff just taking up space in one of my spare rooms. When I get home I might open some them just for fun and old times sake.Congrats on your success so far on your project!
    I really like serious people.

  • Found this thread recently…not sure if anyone still checks it. The Terry Smith Pro Vision cards were certainly my favorite growing up! You guys have some awesome collections. Working on my PSA 9 and higher sets…

Terry has a really nice autographed catalogue with several of the 90s paintings in it currently up on eBay for anyone interested…
