I've lost two friends (at least) to lung cancer via smoking. Tolerance used to be huge for smoking in public places, but now so long ago I can hardly remember. Those days of unregulated vices and unchecked bad behavior is quickly fading with their memories. I like the smell woodsmoke as people gather around a campfire or fireplace smiling from ear to ear, maybe smoking at its best represented that sort of conviviality. Mild tobacco smoked when grown on your own property must have been comforting back in the old days; maybe that should be the limit on smoking--if it is home grown or by your neighbor and dried and prepared on that basis enjoy it and educate others on the growing and culturing process. But have it limited to festive occasions only as it once was.
I have to wonder about those forum members who smoke but never around their coins. It's like they are more concerned with their coins than with their lungs.

They aren't gonna ship their lungs to a nonsmoking buyer!
I quit over thirty years ago, one of the best things I ever did. I remember my Grandmothers house at Thanksgiving, all the adults in the kitchen smoking and it hanging in layers, very un-pc I have acquired many antique pieces over the years that show the effects of being exposed to tobacco smoke, It's not good for anything, except maybe the tobacco companies.

I figure since i smoke, the house, cars are fair game.
My wife grew up in a household where her father smoked. When the whole family piled in the car to go somewhere they NEVER cracked open a window, the old man said the ac would filter it out. A lot of my friends have said the same thing, they were never allowed to open a window.
We burned our trash while i was growing up as they garbage man did not come around in the rual areas. Some of the stuff we burned would probably get you a jail sentence now days.
I think they teach kids in grade school that smoking is bad for you nowdays, and they all run around telling you that. Fast foreward 10 years and you see a lot of those same kids smoking now.
I have sold 1000's of things on ebay with nary a complaint of a smoke smell, i bet i will get one now within the next 5 sales. lol I may have to add a disclaimer to my auctions. * This item comes from a home of a smoker, without any other vices. There will be no food crumbs as no one in this house hold is overweight.

For those who smoke and live in one of the "tobacco settlement" states, did you ever get any indication that any of your health care costs were paid out of settlement funds?
