For some reason when I do an ebay search I see every single character, even on auctions where they use all 80 characters. It's been that way for a long time (for me anyway).

I decided to track all the cards that sold on eBay for the sets I collect.

After printing out reams of paper and setting up an Excel program,
I soon gave up because it was way too much work just too time consuming.
So I'm completely happy with VCP and consider it a "must have" tool in this hobby.
Don't know Bobby, but I'd be a subscriber no matter who's running it. Makes no difference to me.

As for Steve's (gameusedhoop) BIN prices on the 1962 Fleers,
I thought they were completely in line or I wouldn't have grabbed 6 of them.
Also, Steve was great to work with. I even bought some raw cards from him.

Just realized I have no point
except that Steve is a top notch seller and VCP provides a great service.

    heh. that's a riot.
  • at a card show today, i bought a PSA card from a seller that has no interest in the internet, never mind eBay.

i paid what i wanted for the slab. i gave him cash and he thanked me.

I don't get it, how was this transaction recorded?

  • << <i>VCP should be treated like any other Price Guide... it's a GUIDE! Nobody is saying VCP is a bible, it's just a guide like everything else. It just happens to be one of the more accurate guides for ONLINE sales. Use it, or don't use it. Nobody cares. Just stop crying! >>

    Well said.

    The good ole days!
  • Whether VCP is perfectly accurate is irrelevant IMO. It's a guide like many have said. It is IMO also a better guide than SMR.

I only joined last summer, and it has saved me a ton of money. Plus now that I know how to use the option of looking up several, 100, or even a whole set at a time, I love it even more.

Thanks for the service, I can't wait till it is able to capture all data for all years.

  • To me, it's the best product available. Beckett/SMR are worthless to me.
I am seeing key "misses" in terms of what I collect. I collect Vintage (Mantle/Clemente) and don't care much about true value, for now.
I also hoard 1983-1993 RC's and buy up as many as I can as a "hard asset" investment. I do care about the values, particularly rising value, of these cards.
I get annoyed when a blowout auction, or large BIN, is missed by VCP. i.e., I have 10 '92 Fleer Update Piazza's and VCP has failed
to capture the last $150 and a $175 BIN/Best Offer. With current Average sitting at $100, that's more than $500 in value.

Other than the misses, I am very dependent upon VCP. Thanks Bobby
