I don't like the second or third footballs - I'm not sure who the first is. Lem Barney and Ernie Banks look good. If that Magic/MJ is Upper Deck Authenticated, there's nothing to worry about there. Tomlinson looks authenticated by someone - if they're trustworthy, so is the piece. On the oldtimers baseball picture, Wills, Robinson, and Rose look good. I don't have enough knowledge of the other 3 players' sigs to opine on them. I've never seen a Willie Mays signed golf ball before. I'd be leery of that piece just because it's Mays. For the other pieces, I don't know enough to have an opinion.
There isn't a Marino football, and the Favre was the ball I thought looked pretty good,,, the Peyton is close, I've had quite a few Peyton's before but don't have any currently to compare it to.

And my expertise on the Favre comes from working at a card shop in Milwaukee for 8 years. We got stuff directly from his company and none of it looked like that. I would also lay money that all three footballs were signed by the same person.
<< <i>What about the Mays & Banks? I looked at those and thought them to be good as well. >>
I like the Banks. While the Mays doesn't look bad to me, from what I've heard, there is no way that guy has been able to sign something like a golf ball and have it look like that for quite some time. Any way to date the golf ball?
The Mays has got a hologram, I can't figure out the company though. The ball is an Intech Titanium 1, is marked "TI distance 432" cert # is VM10005 so I have no idea

Mays items typically have his Say Hey hologram on them.
On the one photo, brooks, palmer, rose, carlton, and gibson all look good. Dont know enough about wills, but i would assume its good if the others are. Mays and Banks look good as well.

I'm no expert, but it does not seem that the footballs of Payton, Favre or Manning are legit. First of all, it looks like they were all signed with the same marker. The way the numbers are written boldly looks unusual. If they were signed with the same marker, they probably would have been signed at the same place or show. It is unlikely that Walter Payton and Peyton Manning were signing around the same time. Payton passed in November 1999 and was sick for the last several months (or more) of his life. Manning was a rookie in 1998 and I recall him doing a show in Chicago but probably wasn't a huge signer then. In summary, if someone happened to have autos of Payton, Favre and Manning, chances are they would not be signed with the same/similar pen and same style.
Willie Mays golf ball- G Paul H helmet- not sure the P looks weird but the last name looks alright.
MJ/MJ- NG
Manning/Marino- Hell no
The six signed photo looks pretty good but not sure and could be wrong.
The Banks ball looks good to me.
The rest I am too tired to check out right now.

I had a Banks sig on a card that looked just like the ball there and it got rejected by PSA.
I don't know recent football very well but the three signed footballs all look no good to me. On the Manning/Marino picture I have my doubts. Marino would NEVER sign over is own face and his normal style used to be to sign through the middle part of any item.
<< <i>I've never used it, but how much is the PSA quick service for authentication? >>
In the $7 range per auction. I trust the guys here and on SCN as much as I trust PSA. Consensus is a lot of it is bad. Why throw more money away on the deal.

What lesson was that? Are you saying that you don't own this? But if it was a haul, that suggests that you do own it. Me thinks the BS meter is spiking hard to the right...
What you got here looks like some real autographs fixed in with the some fakes. The lesser stuff like the mini-helmets are ok but the footballs look fake especially the Walter Payton. The Manning and Marino is no good. The Banks Ball and the Old Timers photo looks good. Basically the cheap stuff in there is ok. The big ticket items are no good.
I really like the six signature photo of the old timers.

Sean you told me about the seller being a local umpire and coach. I can't see why he would sell you fake stuff while working in the public.
I have know idea about Auto's so I stay far away. I bought all those balls from diamandman, assuming they are all real Auto's, but that's the only time.
Hopefully you can go back to the guy and his wife. Are any if these that are questionable worth paying for authentication? Sean which ones have Authenticity Certs with them? You had mentioned a few yesterday. PSA, GAI, Stiener I thought.
