It's a start. My first graded card

As said before I'm usually posting in the currency forum, but starting to rekindle from my younger days of sports cards. Here is my first graded card (bought, not sent in myself) it's nothing much but my favorite Jordan card. I do have an 86-87 fleer psa 2 Jordan coming hopefully tomorrow. It's a (re)-start. I like to buy the graded cards now just to be sure it's the real thing.

Sorry, my camera on my phone blows.

  • Congrats on your first graded cards. Its a beauty however one thing that I learned the hard way is to stay away from (oc) cards. They will drop the price significantly. Id rather take a lower graded card any day than an off center one. Just a heads up if your going to add more to your collection.

Oh ok good point. See, I'm learning things already. It's alot different from when I used to collect in the 80s and 90s. Thanks for the heads up!

  • I agree that it's a good idea to stay away from OC cards. Also not sure I would spend money on a PSA 2 Jordan rookie. If you want one that bad look for a nice PSA 7. If you decide to ever sell your cards it will be hard to move modern cards that have OC qualifiers or very low grades.
  • Welcome!!

#1 collect what YOU like. Thats the most important thing. Majority of these cards will be worthless in 40-50 years.

    #2 Agreed O/C sucks

#3 Don't be overly confident in the graded card business. Slabs are easily faked and I suspect there are just as many altered cards in slabs as not.

    #4 Have fun!!!!
