Extremely rare 1981/82 Red Rooster Wayne Gretzky - long hair 3 cards still attached

I have 3 1981/82 - Red Rooster - Wayne Gretzky - Long Hair Cards that are still joined together. Apparently these are very rare.

I would like to sell the cards but am nervous to separate them. Would it be better to sell them joined or try to separate and grade?
Is anyone interested in the cards as is?

- "In order to play hockey well, a player must develop his abilities to skate."
- "Headman the Puck"
- "Penalties don't help score points."

I might be interested, but you need to turn on your PMs. I can't message you. Or email me at mosling03@yahoo.com

  • I don't know what would be reasonable to ask for the cards. I couldn't find anyone selling them online only an indication that they were "rare".
  • Low on end those is about $200/card.
  • I'm extending an option to counter an offer of $200 for the three cards if received prior to Monday at 8:00 PST. If no counter offer is received by that time I'll accept the 200 offer. If a counter offer is received I'll put the cards up on Ebay to determine an appropriate price.

I appreciate everyone who has contacted me and expressed interest in the cards. I can provide the original photos I took (or try and improve on them if required interest. Below is a bit more detail on the condition of the cards that I've provided to others by PM:

The card on the left when looking at the front "In order to play hockey well" has a cut in the card at the top and is in the worst condition. You can see it from the back view in the pictures I posted.

The card on the right has a nick in the edge.

The middle card is partly separated from the card on the right the top half inch. There is some slight colour near the Sunrype on the middle card on the back to my eye. The middle card in particular is the best of the bunch.

I'm located in Vancouver, BC and would want to recover the cost of shipping (and no more) on top of the offer and would ship according to the individuals preferences.
  • I'd offer you $250
  • Thanks for the counter. I'll post a link when I have it up on Ebay.
  • I've managed to place my first Ebay auction. The long haired Wayne Gretzky Red Rooster cars are now up on Ebay.

Ebay - Wayne Gretzky long hair

If the Link doesn't work for you please advise me. The auction ends on April 29th.

Anyone interested I would encourage you to bid.

    Cheers,
    Brent.
  • A quick note, for anyone interested in rare Wayne Gretzky cards described earlier in this thread my listing on Ebay will close tomorrow evening (Sunday, April 29th).
The auction has no reserve price. I hope the cards end up in the hands of someone who will appreciate them.

Best wishes to all interested parties.

    Cheers.

    Ebay listing
  • No shipping to the States?
  • Argh... I truly demonstrated my rookie (1st time) ebay selling skills in creating the posting. I will happily ship to the states and intended for the listing to reflect that originally.

After repeated calls to Ebay I'm told that I can't change how my posting is displayed on the Ebay site or end the auction at this poing and repost the auction but US users should be able to bid and we can arrange the shipping details outside of that.

I'd be really happy to know that those in the US are able to bid on the item. Although, I'm not sure I can do anything about it if you can't.

  • I finally found how to end the listing as individuals in the US could not see the listing properly as was intended. I've taken down the listing for the time being and will consider posting again.
I'm sure some of the auction watchers are likely annoyed with me. Apologies for being a true rookie in this process. I'm going to take a break for the time being.
