Cache placing question

mrpaseomrpaseo Posts: 4,753 ✭✭✭
Three questions:

1. If I wanted to put a cache out there for someone else to find, what type of container would be best (Thinking if I buried it 8 inched down)

2. Where would a good place be to place said container?

3. What would you put into the capsule for someone in the future to find?

I was thinking about actually doing this,
Ray

I've thought about it too.. I would totally mess with people and just put something insane in, like a map to a treasure in the middle of the British Columbia forest that doesn't exist.

Use threaded PVC pipe pieces with end caps.... put some coins in (needs metal.. and at 8 inches I would put a couple of metallic items). Also can put a note with name and date, add a trinket or two like a marble, shot glass, use your imagination. Put it somewhere that MD'rs are likely to be checking.. like parks, a beach etc. Cheers, RickO

good idea! as long as it doesn't look too much like a pipe bomb! You want to make sure they open it, not call the police squad. image

I highly recommend that people wishing to "plant" a cache do so in my flower bed - - and leave me a detailed map to the treasure!!

    Thanks!

I understand putting it where treasure hunters may look, but on the other hand, it might get dug up next week when a detectorist finds it!

What is too deep for a metal detector to find?

I want to do two things.
) hide so it can be detected for fun
) hide so it can't be detected for serious hiding

I would recommend the following for serious hiding

I am working on the Nolan Ryan master set. Need 1004 more cards to complete. I might actually spend more on plastic than I did on cardboard.

Wow. Good read. A little disappointed at the end but a good read nonetheless.
