1788 No Period Massachusetts 1C NGC "planchet flaw"

I was wondering what you guys think of this coin - XF Details with planchet flaw. Since a planchet flaw is an error, would PCGS grade this coin with a numerical grade with an error designation? I dont think NGC recognises "planchet flaw" as an error - only a mint irregularity. What do you think?

That was undoubtably holed and plugged.

Definitely no "Planchet Flaw"

I have to agree with Stone. I see the circular mark on the rev. to the left of 88.

No, It has been certified by NGC as a planchet flaw, not holed/plugged.

This is one I have to agree on, If you send it in to pcgs they will probably genny it. It looks even more like a pluged holed on the reverse when I blow up your picks and NGC probably just made a snafu, its been know to happen to the best.

Definitely a plancet flaw. all planchets become flawed when you hole and plug them. --Jerry

I'm surprised that NGC missed that one. The obverse might fool a few people, but the mark on the reverse unmistakable. It’s been holed and plugged.

It's not even a good repair job. Some expertly plugged coins can fool an experienced dealer, but this is ridiculous.
