Walking Liberty Upgrade? - Edited to correct photo

nagsnags Posts: 821 ✭✭✭✭
Any opinions on whether it's worth a shot to attempt to re-grade this coin? It looks to be a large % of increase in value at the next level. I stopped at a shop about 100 miles from home (in a small, remote town) and they had numerous of the old pcgs holders priced around pcgs price guide. - Thanks

Very risky if profit is your motive... Cheers, RickO

I would think about sending them to CAC if you think they are upgrade candidates. Maybe you will get really really really lucky and score a gold sticker and then you have the best of both worlds. Highly desirable. Personally I would keep them in the present slabs for allure alone.

Hard to tell from the photos. The right obverse file looks pretty clean from what I can tell.

Like MJ said, hard to tell from these (or really any) photos......the strike on the 42S may limit it's grade, and the luster appears muted or otherwise unspectacular.
I can't tell what may be going on in the right obverse field of the '47, looks to be some lines or marks, unless it's the haze or a trick of the camera I'm seeing.

The strike on the 42 S is fine.......It's the rare "stump" variety. She lost her hand fighting in the big one. image

With the scans, it's nearly impossible to know how these coins would grade. About all I can tell is they look fairly clean and the 42-S does not have a split hand (most don't).
