    coinflation has a good article on such.

    This method is one way, within a mixed package,

    of silver in hand, silver in three different safety dep boxes in different banks/location, silver holding companies (not me though), Mining stock, and even buried.

    I wouldn't count on anyone of them, as generally when you need it, the value is down, or can't access too readily.

    Uncle Sam would know about that method of course, and someday in the future be asking for their share of the capital gain... or wanting it back...
    Same with an about to be ex-spouse. Don't tell that you bought it, and where, or where you buried it may be the safest to ensure you still have it when you need it.
