Opinions needed

This card is in my collection. It is a card I would never, ever sell (unless disaster fell upon me).

This card was graded years ago, and I am considering sending in to PSA now with the crossover service with a PSA 7.5 as a minimum grade.
What is your opiniion about it's chances of crossing ? It has 3 NM-MT corners, and 1 NM to NM+ corner.

I could care less about the monetary advantage. The card is a beauty whether it's in an SGC or PSA holder. However, I have
this card and both would make a nice fit in my collection in 7.5 holders.

So looking at both cards, what do you think the chances are of the Jacques Plante rookie bumping to a 7.5 ? Or is it due to land a PSA 7 ?
And, do you like the card better in the SGC holder, or would the Plante rookie look better in a PSA holder ? Again, monetary value due to a half grade bump is not in play here.

thanks

My only opinion is if you could care less you must care some.

Ummm, I don't really have any faith in crossover services.

Crack and submit raw is what almost everyone will say.

Good luck in any event and nice card.

    Steve

Edited to add: I don't think it would cross.
    Good for you.
  • From what can be seen, your chances are extremely well I'd say.

Both card look a little rough on the bottom rights but your appears better overall. I did notice that yours appears to be a little off center from top to bottom but hopefully it wont affect it.

Go for it and good luck.
  • Chances is a noun, so you want to use the word good, not the word well. His chances are good. Well matches up with verbs, action words, like he hit the ball well.

Agree....he didnt want people in all 57 states to see him make that mistake
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I wasn't worried if everyone in the 57 states read that, I was really more concerned if our North Korean allies would have read that mistake.

This is why your a nut, maybe we'll start a grammar thread?

Anyway back on topic, I'd say you have a good shot.

Try the crossover first, if that doesn't work crack and resub.

Edit: excuse my grammar from my smartphone or my intellectual dumbass...

    Good luck either way. image

No way that crosses to a 7.5 from a 7 SGC case...

That Plante looks nicer in an SGC case anyways.

  • Thanks guys for your opinions. I really appreciate it.

I am strongly considering sending the 7.5 Plante to SGC, along with a few other high grade quakers I have in PSA holders.

I once had a PSA 8.5 Gordie Howe cross into a PSA 9 holder at the national in Atlantic City. It was still in the SGC case of course.
    So it does happen.

I agree that the card looks sweet in the SGC holder, but here's the thing.
I believe the card is a bit undergraded in the SGC holder.

    Does SGC do reviews ?

  • All the red in card 71, from the flip to the borders to the uniforms, is pretty. I'd want the other one in a PSA holder even if it's only a 7. The centering is probably too weak to get the .5 bump, but it should cross over to PSA 7. The least risky way to handle it is to first get it crossed over without cracking it out. Then when it comes back as a 7, send it in a few times for review to get a bump. Really no risk in that. Whether you get the bump from PSA or not, if you change your mind, you can always cross it back to SGC and get that 84 again. If you do get the bump from PSA and then send it back to SGC, it might come back an 86.
  • IMO given the centering and bottom corners, I don't think the chances are very well of crossing to a 7.5.
