My second PCGS submission GRADES POSTED IN FIRST POST

I had a good time guessing the grades with my first PCGS submission. I decided to start a thread here to post my guesses for this submission. I will be submitting these coins at the Baltimore show, so I probably wont see grades until May or so. If you missed my first submission, you can see it here: Link
1) 1853 A&R 50C - Was in an ANACS 35 holder, and I see it holdering at the same grade
2) 1893-O 50C - Darkly toned coin, light on the liberty but great detail throughout - My grade 20
3) 1894-S 50C - lighter colored coin with ghosting of the design elements. Probably from a long ago dip - My grade 20
4) 1895 50C - My grade 20
5) 1895-O 50C - This is a gorgeous VF Barber half, it has a rim issue that might put it in a BB. My grade 25 w/o the issue, hopefully they net it at 20
6) 1900-O 50C - Perfect original color, I'm split on the grade VG10/F12 Im hoping for the 12 since it is a softly struck date.
7) 1901-O 50C - Nice look for a tough date. I say 25
8) 1902-O 50C - Weakly struck, but I think it will go 15
9) 1903-S 50C - The date that got a BB for me in my last round. I think this coin will get a solid 15
10) 1904 50C - Ex NGC 20, I see it getting the same grade
11) 1905-O 50C - The most prized piece I have acquired so far. Such a tough date, and this one is great looking. I'm thinking 25
12) 1907-O 50C - Ex NGC 12 I think it should be in a 15 holder if not a 20
13) 1908-S 50C - Nice crusty Barber, this is the look I love. I say 30
14) 1911 50C - Ex NGC 12. This should make it in a 15 holder no problem
I would like to personally thank Greg Mockensturm (Walkerguy21D) for a lot of these coins. I have been working with Greg for a while now trying to build my set. Greg really understands what I want in a coin. And since he found me an 05-O, I could care less what the others grade.
Big thanks to Greg!

My thoughts on this submission, nothing really surprises my other than the 05-O. That is not the right grade for that coin. It might have to take another trip in. And of course, this is my second submission and the second details 03-S. This Date MM is going to be a pain in my butt!

i love the add of personal thoughts on grade with before and after
i promise to do the same when i submit too
Hope you do well.
Sadly this did not work for me yesterday with Duke and Missouri....had both in the Final 4.....talk about pissing away $$ on a bracket.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you on your submission results!
The time has flown by and Baltimore is this week.
Looking forward to seeing your submission, Justin, as
I am sure you're looking forward to see mine.
Without giving away the background of each coin,
I will go over the coins I'm submitting and start a
similar thread.
See you at table 310 !

That 05O grade is very questionable though!!

Completely agree on the 05-O. I was a bit worried about that 95-O. It is such a gorgeous coin and I'm glad a minor little defect didn't hold it back.
Nice grades! Regarding your 01-O, I submitted the same date a couple of years ago and it graded 15 to my dismay. I cracked it and resubmitted it and it came back 25. Sometimes I think there are two sets of graders looking at Barbers, the ones that understand the weak strike O dates and the ones that don't! If it it has a strong VF reverse and the obverse is weak, especially the headband, send it back raw for a regrade! You'll get your VF eventually! ( If it's a true weak strike VF that is).

I hope that is a good thing, I like to see how I think compared to the experts. It's just a fun thing to do, at least for me.

WE NEED PICS!!!!
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
Overall, I think you nailed the submission very well.
Sorry to see the dreaded "filed rims" code on one coin though.
( edit to add: you said Fair Details ... I have heard that the Details
Graded Coins in FINE CONDITION with issues are being listed as Fair.
I think it's just a glitch in the verbage , as I am 100% positive you
didn't submit a Fair 02 coin for holdering !! )
Thanks for letting us know your grades were in... I just checked
mine last night and did ok but for two "92's" that slipped by me.
Submitted 17 raw coins - and getting back 15 with decent grades.
No complaints from me. I posted my grades on the Mega Thread.
I also would like to add to your comments about Walkerguy21D,
Greg, is a stand up guy, knows his stuff and is wonderful to work with.
My only complaint ? He didn't offer me the 1905-O first !!

In all fairness, Justin had that 05-O on a standing want list with me for a good year or so. It's the only one I've ever owned, and I made him wait 3 months
for it, so I could enjoy owning that toughie myself for a while
