Nice! Are those from ebay auctions and you ripped 'em? I graded 2 of those Mantle's and have the highest graded at a 6. I only tore them apart because the Aaron had a problem.
  • No these are not from the EBAY auctions recently, this is from a near set I acquired years ago that I decided to split up. I kept the Red Sox panels for my collection and am selling off the other . However I did separate the panels if you ask. Based on recent prices this was the way for me to maximize my profit. Also judging by the number of requests I have received to end the auctions early I would say that interest is far greater in these cards as individual panels than as 3 card panels. Regards Jeff

Jeff you are absolutely correct that the best way to profit was to split it up. I was pretty much teasing, but it falls into the same "category" as cutting up a vintage uniform or bat. I own a number of these panels, many in duplicate form, and the temptation has always been there. Good luck
  • Flatfoot no worries, Although I would disagree with these pieces are the same as cutting up a uniform or bat. The panels are perforated which means from the vary start they were meant to be separated. I can understand how people want to keep panels, unopened packs etc... But in general they do not seem to be willing to pay more for the sum of the parts than others are willing to pay for the parts. To each his own that is what makes collecting fun we all bring our unique perspectives to how we collect.
