I sent them an email trying to see if we can make a deal and at least get there few member some service but like the members get we got no reply

Comments

  • Do these people not understand that all they have to do is report their credit cards lost and have a new account number issued?

One guy has been getting billed for 8-9 months? Seriously? I don't get why people put up with crap like this.

I did not know they even existed.

After those four National League games, Gorman Thomas was never the same, and neither were the Brewers, and come to think of it neither was I.

    +1, guess that's a credit to Bobby's great site
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

Yeah, class is really flying out the window. How unclassy. Showing a competitor that hasn't been in business for 9 months still billing subscribers shows what an unclassy person you are, Bobby. You are going to have to save up your class now, as you must be pretty low now. This is the perfect example if anybody needs to describe an unclassy move.

Have a little class, Bobby. Oh wait, I forgot, you don't have any.

  • The guy is out of business and I tried to help but get no response. I really don't care about the competition and wish he was still in business. It just made me work harder to do better.

    Hey Bobby,

Why no offer a reduced-cost 6-month membership to anyone who provides evidence of being one of the customers of the out-of-business firm?
And also let them no to call their CC company, cancel their cards (for replacement) and dispute the charges.

Bobby I use VCP and have been nothing but pleased with your service!!!! Keep up the good work my friend.
  • Here you go if anyone here is a member of CardPricer contact me and send me proof that you are a member and I will give you a free 3 month membership to VCP. I will even let people who where members as far back as 10/1/11 get in on the act.

Cardpricer started at the same time as we did and launched their site just a month after ours. Ted the owner and I had a few public battles and he did some rather underhanded things to us but I really did not care because I knew we offered a better product and drove us to be better all the time.

If they were still in business and I made a post about it then YES that would be trashing them, but since it is obvious they are not in business anymore I don't consider it trashing.

I have no idea how to get in touch with Ted and have tried so if he is reading this board contact me and lets see if we can do something to help out your members.

I can't fathom to think how the collectors of years gone by even collected without population reports and price guides. How did they even know what to buyimage

I had the same problem with justsnipe.com. They never replied. I had to go to the cc company to get it stopped.

THIS especially. I'm irked by the whole elitist notion that knowledge has monetary value.

In years past the only true collectors were kids. The gum and the cards of their sports heroes was all that mattered.

Over the years it has now evolved into nothing more than a greedy "whats it worth" hobby. Most "So called Collectors" today(The kids are gone) who's main reason for even being involved in the hobby is "whats it worth" NOT the cards. They could just as well be blank pieces of paper.

Speculator's, Pack Searchers, Card trimmers, Resealing packs etc....ect.... etc... This spawned even more coruption and greed.

Population reports? Price Guides? Those were made up to make money off the new breed, "Whats it Worth" collectors. They were never needed or even a distant thought in the Backyard by the kids. All that mattered was a mouthful of that gum, a shoebox, a handful of rubberbands and the kid down the street to trade with. He threw 4-5 Cowboys cards down and I threw 4-5 Redskins cards down. We each scooped up the cards and it was all good!

I put the rest of the Redskin cards in my bicycle spokes on the way home.

Yes Ive played the Money game in todays hobby, But its still first and formost about the cards and the meaning they hold in my heart from those summer days gone past.
The day it becomes more about price guides and population reports is the day I will end my life long affair with the hobby.

Now Im off to put some of these 1990 Donruss cards in my bicylce spokes.

What is the difference in using VCP and using Kelley Blue Book to buy a car? The one with the best information usually gets the best deal.

I like Bobby's product. I have used it for years. I have no problem with him posting that the out of business guy is shaddy.
