What am I doing wrong?

Recently purchased both #2 and #14 1968 Action All-Star full panels. Didn't really want to tear them apart, but "needed" them for my Killebrew Master set, am at #2 right now and the only chance I have of gaining 1st place is through the obscure issues.

CAREFULLY separated them and sent them in to PSA, figuring 7's or 8's at best 5's or 6's at worst. What am I doing wrong to get such low grades? Should I have cut them so that the perforations are removed? I figured that would be a BAD idea.

I also thought the #2 sticker would grade lower than the #14 because of the crease at the top, straight above Killebrew's hands (doesn't show well on scan).

I called PSA as soon as I saw the grades post, but they had already shipped. I was told I could send them in for a review, cost to me $47.50.image

Any advice?

Joe

Do they have any light wrinkles or anything that are hard to see? I see something on the bottom left side of the second one.

    +1

The bottom one is miscut. Notice the perferation on the left is off the side compared to the top one.

Did not request no qualifiers, top one has light crease as noted, only other imperfections I can see are at the perforations where card has bending as issued. I figured that would be ignored like the OPC "rough cut".

I really cant see a 2 and a 3 though?!?!?!? Looked at what is showing on eBay right now and still think these should be more in the 5-6 range, although the bottom one is off-center/mis-cut.

Glad I got them at good prices.

Its hard to get higher than a 3 with any kind of crease.

Maybe that's why they were priced so reasonable. Seems to me that there's a lot of REALLY ugly cards out there with rounded corners AND multiple HEAVY creasing that grade 2 or 3.

These are still nice items, just thought they would grade higher.

They both appear to have been rolled and there's a crease above the hands on the PSA 3 and the PSA 2 appears as though it may have water wrinkles as well (left bottom third)...

I see the problems on left bottom third, VERY light as you look at it in hand, this scanner magnifies the "wrinkles" quite a bit.

    They are there though.

Edited to add; Maybe should have put them in a heavy book for a few weeks before sending in!?!?!?!?
