Not a chance. Don't like anything in coin pictures but the coin.

No. I have removed far more coins from their slabs (about a dozen had CAC beans too) than had coin crossed to PCGS or newly graded and slabbed.

I want a first spouse in the new 1 kilo holder. Take THAT Regency Holder!

I'm also all for overkill, too.

Hey, if PCGS wants to do it for free...why not. But to pay $10 per coin...Ithink not.

Too much of a pain to get everything re-CAC'd.

It would be very expensive to do this, especially for those with pretty green and gold stickers. For some, money is no object and if they want their entire set TruViewed and all of the coins in the same style holder for consistency then I could see a few people doing this. If the set includes coins with lettered/different edges then I could see people wanting to do it for this reason.....but otherwise....

...my spell check mechanism started smoking when it saw "threw" instead of through in your thread. image

  • It costs too much for me; as long as the slab isn't scratched up, I would leave it alone.
  • I would rather buy another coin with the money and keep the plastic I have.

  • I have an AU 55 Bust Half that has a lot of scratches on the slab that I would like to get re-holdered but since I hate the new design so much I think I'll just put up with the scratches. image

I am new to this one. Apart from the prongs, like em or love em and they have been here in some quantities anyway a long while IIRC, what new feature warrants this question? It is safer, clearer, stronger, higher melting point - what?

I actually passed on purchasing a coin because it was in the new prong holder.

The coin in question wasn't a coin that I needed for a set. Had it been that might have turned out differently. It was just a coin that I liked and wanted to add to the collection.

I'm gonna fight it as long as I can. image

I cannot imagine why anyone would waste their money doing this. Cheers, RickO
  • I dont have a rediculous amount of coins so it would be doable but a pita. I forgot about the whole CAC thing that really throws a monkey wrench into things.
