This is in my neck of the woods so it is good to hear when a coin thief is apprehended. They didn't identify the value of the coins (or the marijuana) so we don't know how big a potential heist this was. Still given the actual and potential violence involved, it is safe to say it was serious. Unfortunately, D.C.s courts are so overburdened, I am not confident that these guys are going away for a long time. My cousin, who was suffering from terminal cancer at the time, was violently attacked in an unarmed robbery attempt in D.C. 2 years ago by a recidivist drug addict/thief with more than 20 convictions to his credit. Thankfully he was not seriously injured but the guy walked. I hope these guys do time.

    Coins and mustard, okay.

    Coins and stamps, 'eh, okay.

Coins and currency, yeah baby, okay.

    Coins and drugs, NOT okay.

  • That is good news. I hope they also catch up with the scum that killed part of another family recently, I believe it was in ct, and stole the safe with his Gold coin collection.
Hope we hear when they capture them.

It probably is not a good idea to run street drug sales from the same place you keep your coin collection. Just sayin.........

Yep, no doubt the victim was part of the problem in this case, and he may end up doing more time than the thieves. Cheers, RickO

Sounds like they came for the weed and the cash and found the gold coins with the cash. The "victim" in this case must have really been pissed to go to the cops. He'll be doing time now too. Enjoy the pokey and good riddance.

Maybe if Ron Paul was president you could legally buy your weed with gold.
  • I hope the property/money is returned.

Maybe the drug deals were with a previous owner.

Are coin sales so slow dealers are branching out into pot?

I wonder how "rare" the coins were.
